CONTROLS & INDICATIONS

FIRE indication per zone. The zone led will flash on non-silenced zones and be continuously lit
on silenced zones.
FAULT indication per zone. Pulses once to show detector removed, twice for open circuit
and three times for short circuit. Also when lit continuously indicates zone disabled.
SUPPLY HEALTHY led. Extinguished for a supply fault, (internal normal/standby supply fault
green/red LED's). Supply faults include,
1. Main supply failure
2. Battery open circuit
3. Battery volts low
4. Earth fault to -ve
5. Earth fault to +ve

(Supply Healthy led pulses twice.)
(Supply Healthy led pulses three times.)
COMMON FAULT led. Lights for any fault, pulses twice for supply fault.
SOUNDER FAULT led. Pulses twice for open circuit and three times for short circuit faults
on the common sounder circuits (if fitted). Continuously lit indicates disablement of all common
and sav-wire sounders, (this can only be done in test mode). For fault indications this nonlatching in normal conditions, but latches when there is a fire. In test mode the led pulses to
show which circuit is faulty. Once for circuit 1, twice for circuit 2 and three times if both circuits
are faulty.
INTERNAL FAULT led. (Latching fault indication if the microprocessor is reset due to power
failure, fails a watchdog test or fails a memory check). The processor will try to restart after a
fault, but if it fails a memory check twice in a row then it will STOP in it's safe state, and the
panel will be inoperable.
AUXILIARY ISOLATED. Indication that auxiliary relays have been disabled in the event of a
fire or fault.
SILENCE-RESOUND ALARM. Push button that silences sounders or resounds them, when in
fire.
MUTE BUZZER. Push button that silences fault buzzer when in fault condition. Pressing and
holding this button performs a lamp test. This button is also used to scroll zones for isolate
mode. May also be used to silence the buzzer when in fire after the sounders have been
silenced.
EVACUATE. Push button control. Operation is exactly the same as if it was a fire zone and the
push button initiated a fire. Remote evacuate is identical except it is non-latching and doesn’t
operate the aux. relay or the fire led.
RESET. This resets the panel and detectors, unless the panel is in fire condition and the
sounders have not yet been silenced. During the reset sequence the panel lights all the LED's
and sounds the internal buzzer. This has a timed 5 second reset pulse to ensure proper
resetting of heads even for short blips of the button. This reset procedure may also occur for
INTERNAL faults, POWER UP and when in test mode. Holding down the reset button will
display the panel configuration data.
TEST MODE. Internal push button (with external led). In test mode, zones will now autoreset
after 3 seconds, and on receipt of alarm will only operate sounders for 1* second, unless the
sounders have been isolated. Sounders in savwire zones not being tested do not sound.
Pressing the test button once sets the panel into test mode and also automatically isolates the
auxiliary relays. Pressing the test mode button a second time isolates the sounders as well to
enable silent testing. Pressing the button a third time clears test mode and re-instates the
auxiliaries and sounders. Test mode (+ outputs automatically isolated for test) will
automatically clear after about 20 minutes, if no zones are tested. Note! Outputs isolated using
isolate mode will not be cleared. *(Note! some beacons take time to charge up and may not
operate in test mode.)
ISOLATE MODE. Led. Illuminated if any zone, and or auxiliaries / sounders have been
isolated.
ISOLATE MODE. Push button switch that enables an engineer to select circuits to be isolated
or de-isolated. The isolated zones are indicated by the zonal fault LED's. Sounder and auxiliary
circuits have their own leds.
PAGE 2
ISOLATE MODE
Circuits that may be isolated are, zones, auxiliaries and sounders. (N.B. sounders may
only be isolated in test mode, and can remain disabled when test mode is de-activated.
Sounders may be re-enabled when not in test mode if required). To select isolate mode
follow this procedure.
1) Enable the controls.
2) Press the isolate mode button. Buzzer will beep, isolate mode led will flash. The zone 1
fault led will flash. (Flashing will be 3/4 S on 1/4 S if circuit was previously isolated, 1/4
S on 1/4 S off if not.)
3) Press isolate mode button to select / deselect circuit. Selected isolated circuits will be
lit continuously, panel will then scroll to the next circuit.
4) Press the mute buzzer button to scroll to next zone / circuit. It will scroll automatically
after a second or so anyway. Repeat action 3 as necessary.
5) After all isolatable circuits are scrolled through, if any circuits have been disabled the
isolate mode led will be illuminated continuously as will led’s denoting the isolated
circuit.
6) Pressing RESET at any time between steps 3&5 will clear all disablements and revert
to normal operation. This is the preferred way of re-enabling zones as it will reset
any detectors that may be in alarm on a disabled zone.
CONFIGURATION OF ZONES
To change a sav-wire zone to conventional operation remove the relevant zone link 1,2,3
or 4. Important! If common sounder circuits are not used, at least 2 zones MUST be SAVWIRE.
Note! Internal "STOP CHARGE" led pulses on every few seconds to test for supply fault. It
can take up to 20s to register a supply fault. Also, as batteries are not charged during a
fire condition the led is on continuously.
