PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The Juno Trac-Master® Current Limiting Lighting Control Panel is THE solution for complying
with stringent energy codes like ASHRAE 90.1 and California Title 24. Typically for track
lighting, it is defined as a sub-branch circuit current limiter designed to limit available wattage to lighting circuits, to only that necessary to meet the lighting design criteria. The TracMaster panel employs supplementary current limiting protectors configured specifically for
the lighting design in the space. Rather than lighting loads being calculated by the greater of
maximum fixture wattage ratings or an arbitrary watts per foot multiplier, the
Trac-Master panel enables calculations to instead be made based on the rating of the
supplementary protector. Because it limits a circuit not the lighting equipment itself, the
Trac-Master Lighting Control Panel provides maximum flexibility to accommodate frequent
lighting design modifications and layout changes, especially typical for retail spaces.

ORDERING INFORMATION
Supplementary Protector ratings are determined by the electrical layout drawings. A submittal package will be provided by Juno for
approval following receipt of order and single line drawings. Supplementary Protector ratings and position are not required to be
specified as part of the catalog number. Specifications assistance is available thru local Juno Lighting Group sales representatives or
by contacting Juno Lighting Group Technical Services at (888) 387-2212.

CURRENT LIMITING LIGHTING CONTROL PANEL
APPLICATION
Energy codes typically calculate track lighting loads based on linear feet of installed track. Some codes use a multiplier as low as
30 watts/foot while others use a multiplier as high as 70 watts/foot. When using the energy efficient lighting technologies available today, the connected load is typically much less than the per-foot multipliers used by most energy codes. This penalizes lighting
designs that employ track lighting and wastes available lighting watts that could be used more effectively.
Below is a typical track lighting example. The Standard Layout consists of 100’ runs of single circuit track with 32 CMH track
heads, each using 39W lamps, for a total connected load of 1440W. The Revised Layout Using Short Track Segments has the same
1440W connected load but uses sixteen short 4’ track segments (64’), each fed separately, to help minimize the impact of the watts
per foot multiplier. The scenario with the Trac-Master Current Limiting Control Panel uses the original 100’ of single circuit track, with
each monitored by a 4-Amp current limiting supplementary protector that is closely matched to the actual connected load of 1440W
plus a small buffer. This results in the minimum calculated watts per the energy codes.
1. Standard Layout without the Trac-Master Control Panel
2. Revised Layout Using Short Track Segments
The Trac-Master Panel installs between the branch circuit breaker and the track lighting, solving the energy code calculation
discrepancy, making the wattage calculation independent of track length.
