Under the guidance of Mariann Manno M.D. our Admissions Committee recently matriculated 125
University of Massachusetts Medical
School-School of Medicine/Admissions
students to the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Our first year class was selected from
1,172 applications submitted representing 80 cities and 11 counties across the Commonwealth.
Three (3) nonresident MD/PhD applicants matriculated into the program.
Inside this issue:
The first year class includes 70 women and 55 men. The average age of the class is 23 and several of the 125 students are over age 30. Twenty-one (21) members of this years’ class are first
generation college. Fourteen (14) students are from groups under-represented in medicine.
