University of Massachusetts Dartmouth COLLEGE OF NURSING The Julia and Harold Plotnick Endowed Nursing Professorship in Global Health The College of Nursing at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, Community Health Department invites application for a nine month full time position in Global Health at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. This professorship is responsible for establishing and expanding initiatives that foster engagement in the global health area within the College of Nursing and across the University. This faculty member will also work collaboratively with colleagues across the university to expand educational opportunities and partnerships in the area of global health. This faculty member will be expected to contribute conceptual and methodological diversity, and research leadership and mentoring strength to critical and emerging issues in regional, national, and global health. Building on the College's current commitment to addressing health disparities and managing chronic illness across the life span and across the health care continuum is highly desirable. Specific responsibilities include advancing the College strategic plan to ensure infusion of global health concepts across all nursing programs, including developing, implementing and evaluating undergraduate and graduate courses that focus on global health; expanding student opportunities in global health experiences; advancing an established research agenda in global health and increasing faculty collaborative research in global health priority areas. Establishing partnerships with local and international agencies, including NGO's to secure funding for global health projects and student experiences is expected. Minimum qualifications: The ideal candidate will have an earned research doctorate in Nursing or a related field; a Massachusetts RN license or eligibility for licensure; and a successful record of teaching and advising, and funded research. In addition, the candidate should demonstrate evidence of experience with positive outcomes in the areas of global health administration, or education, or clinical research. Salary will be highly competitive and an appointment with tenure is possible depending on qualifications, experience, and evidence of scholarly accomplishments. The College of Nursing has approximately 30 full-time faculty members and offers undergraduate and graduate programs in two Departments; Adult Nursing and Community Nursing. The baccalaureate degree program has approximately 450 students in the pre-licensure program and 200 students in a fully online RN-BS program. The College also offers graduate programs at the MS, DNP, and PhD level, with approximately 125 students enrolled across the graduate programs. The College faculty teach across undergraduate and graduate programs using a range of pedagogical approaches. The College has a growing portfolio of international collaborations and offers unique clinical experiences through these collaborations. Programs are fully accredited by CCNE.
