Application
Designed for interior applications, tile G2 is a finely detailed LED-based luminous panel that
can be surface mounted or recessed into walls and ceilings (Gypsum Board & Acoustical Tile).
Employing the WaveStream, optical waveguide technology, the result is a perfectly uniform
luminous panel that delivers functional illumination from a variety of square and rectangular sizes.
tile G2’s delivered light output is equivalent to a downlight (smaller tile sizes) and a fluorescent
troffer (larger tile sizes). The broad, general diffuse distribution of light is ideal for ambient lighting
delivered from a ceiling or from a wall (as a wall sconce).
Tile may also be specified to include hundreds of different static colors and an infinite number of
graphic options. For static color, Lee or Rosco Gel colors may be specified as part of the tile G2
catalog nomenclature. The gel is factory installed between the optical waveguide and a protective
lens. For the graphic option, customers can submit any image, 300 DPI or greater. io will produce
a shop drawing for approval, indicating the image cropping within the square or rectangular
frame. tile G2 is also ideal for spaces where color is specified to provide visual cues, emphasize
brand identity or simply as an artistic expression. Room Numbers, Logos, and Restroom Signage
are just some of the graphics that can be useful in an architectural environment.
Dimensions
tile is available in seven standard sizes. Custom sizes are also possible (consult factory for
feasibility).

Construction
The tile G2 frame is an anodized aluminum extrusion joined at 90 degree angles with a patent
pending bracket. A perfect joint is created with absolutely no light leak. The aluminum tile G2
frame creates the structure to support the printed circuit boards to edgelight the optical waveguide
(WaveStream). The patented optical coupling method between the LEDs and the optical waveguide
eliminates point source headlighting at acute angles.

• Recessed Gypsum Board | tile G2 may be recess mounted into gypsum board walls and
ceilings. The tile G2 frame has built-in beading detail for mud work and sanding. The result is
a clean control joint that offers a reveal around the recessed tile G2. All hardware, including
junction box and bar hangers, is provided by io Lighting.

• Surface Mount | tile G2 may be surface mounted to walls or ceilings. io provides the junction
box, bar hangers and plaster ring for the recessed portion of the assembly. The plaster ring is
designed to accommodate gypsum board or plaster thicknesses of .5" (other sizes available upon
