Surge Suppression Solutions for AC Service Entrance & Distribution Panels
Patented PC board traces are monitored
by the alarm assembly to alert you of
individual MOV loss and to provide reliable
high-surge current capacity and low letthrough voltage MOV protection. One by
one, individually fused and alarmed MOVs
are removed from the suppression system
when degraded and damaged. Additionally,
Surge Blox panel suppressors can be
configured with silicon avalanche diodes
(SADs) dependent upon site and customer
requirements. Panels are available in a
variety of service voltages and enclosure
sizes.

Per phase, Surge Blox modules may be
installed individually or stacked vertically
to upgrade protection. The Surge Blox
design utilizes silicon avalanche diodes
(SADs) or metal oxide varistors (MOVs) in
easy-to-repair-and-upgrade modular
designs. Independently fused and alarmed
SAD circuits and MOV components provide
reliable protection from transient voltage
spikes generated by lightning, switching
surges, and inductive switching circuits.

Surge Blox™ Panel Suppressors are
offered in a patented module assemblage
to provide optimal AC service entrance and
distribution panel surge suppression
solutions. Surge Blox panel suppressors
provide redundant protection to prevent
damage from repetitive voltage spikes
generated by recurrent outages or by the
turning on and off of other mechanical and
electrical equipment as well as from
oscillatory, decaying transients generated
by induced lightning.

Wye and Delta configurations available. Other derived service voltages available. Form “C” Dry Relay Contacts are
provided for remote alarm transport. Mounting feet, counters, and locks and keys are options.
UL 1449 2nd Edition and C-UL Listed
Surge Blox Panel Suppressors carry the UL 1449 2nd Ed. and C-UL Listed marks. Ratings are available for
each listed model. Surge Blox modules are UL and C-UL Registered for field service and upgrade.
Indicators of Module Status
Each Surge Blox module has a green and red LED. The green LED indicates that the Surge Blox module is
undamaged. The red LED is an alarm indicator which, when illuminated, alerts that a percentage of the MOVs
have been removed from the suppression system. So long as the green LED remains illuminated (even when
the red LED also is illuminated), protection is provided due to the redundant circuit design.
An audible alarm also signals damage to the suppressor. If Form “C” NO/NC relay contacts are used, a
patented audio-coupled annunciating system triggers alarm transport. The alarm assembly is physically and
electrically separate from the surge suppression system. The electrically isolated alarm assembly protects
the alarm circuit and allows simple repair.
