SAVE THE DATE FOR THE 2014 EUCHARISTIC CONGRESS
All STM families are invited and encouraged to attend the annual Eucharistic Congress at the Georgia
International Convention Center on June 20th and 21st (at no cost). This is a wonderful opportunity to
gather with fellow Catholics across the Archdiocese and the country to grow in faith and in love for Jesus
Christ, and to celebrate His visible, living presence. There will be powerful testimonials from Fr. Dwyer,
Sr. Delores Hart (a former movie star), Jeff Cavins, and others throughout the day. The theme of the 2014
Eucharistic Congress comes from the Gospel of Matthew 28:19 “Go and make disciples”.
More information, please visit at www.archatl.com/congress/

WHAT IS CHRIST RENEWS HIS PARISH?
The entire gospel can be summed up in the words of Jesus, “The time has come and the Kingdom
of God is near. Turn away from your sins and accept the Good News.”
The good news is that God loves us, and since he loves us, he invites us to a deep and lasting
friendship with himself. God challenges us by his invitation. Take the challenge and attend the
Ladies CRHP weekend Sept 13-14!!

CALLING NEW ALTAR SERVER CANDIDATES
Altar serving is one of oldest liturgical ministries in the Church. The altar server is given a divine privilege, above all
earthy honors, in being permitted to serve within the sanctuary at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, at which the
Church gives to God, officially and in the name of all, the worship that is due to Him alone.
If your child is a rising 4th grader or older, they may want to consider the ministry of Altar Serving. We are now
welcoming those interested in being a new altar server. Candidates to be an altar server must be a
faithful Catholic who has completed 3rd grade (but we can begin training as they are approaching
completion of 3rd grade). Training sessions will begin this summer.
To review the duties of an altar server, a training manual used for instruction is available for your
information on the parish website at http://www.stmgaparish.org. It is recommended to be
reviewed before a training session but not required. Send your interest or questions to Cody Jackson's
email jackson_cody@bellsouth.net

STM ONLINE GIVING
With the summer in full bloom and beaches, barbeques and outdoor activity
becoming our weekend escape, we understand if you cannot make it to your home
parish every Sunday. Remember, the church is open year round, 7 days a week,
offering the sacraments, the Mass, the same valuable spiritual service, programs and
guidance in the Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer. Therefore, we need your support
year-round.
Please consider on-line giving! It’s safe and secure. Go to www.stmgaparish.org to
sign up today! Thank you! For questions or more info contact Marie Diebold at
404-378-4588 X112 or mdiebold@stmga.org
CAN YOU HELP?
The Missionaries of the Poor in Kingston, Jamaica, provide refuge for over 400
Jamaicans of all ages.
About 100 of these are handicapped children. Most cannot walk and many cannot
even sit up. For these children, their crib is their world. Can you help make that
world a little better?
About 25 of the mattresses are cracked, ripped and very unhygienic. We are
negotiating a discount with a local store to reduce the regular price of $100 per
mattress. The store will be able to ship the mattresses to the Missionaries
warehouse in Chamblee and they can be included in the next container of food
shipped to the Missionaries in Jamaica.
Someone will be in the narthex after Mass on June 7, 8, 14 and 15 to answer
questions and to accept donations. All donations and prayers are welcome. Checks
should be made payable to Missionaries of the Poor. Prayers should go directly to
Jesus Christ. Thank You!!
SENIOR ADULT GATHERING

STEWARDSHIP VISION AT STM
Inspired by the uniqueness of our faith community and our response to God’s call, the stewardship
committee strives to fulfill the Christian mission by sharing our time, talent and treasure. Our vision is to

STEWARDSHIP THOUGHT— PENTECOST SUNDAY
“To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.” 1 CORINTHIANS 12:7
To receive the gift of the Holy Spirit you must open your heart and let Him in! Open your heart and be grateful
for all the gifts God has given us. Regardless of your circumstance, God has given us all blessings. What we
do with those gifts will determine our eternal fate. Generously sharing your gifts with those that are less
fortunate certainly puts us on the path to Heaven.

the lighter side
What was the secret of Adam and
Eve’s successful marriage?
Adam couldn’t compare Eve’s
cooking to his mother’s, and Eve
couldn’t talk about the man she
almost married before Adam.
