Facility Manager, Peterborough Memorial Centre
The City of Peterborough is pleased to announce that Jeremy Giles has been recruited as the
Facility Manager for the Peterborough Memorial Centre. Jeremy brings impressive
experience with attracting and hosting a broad range of major entertainment events and
dealing with major tenants.
Jeremy is currently the Senior Event and Fan Services Manager, with Spectra Venue
Management, at the General Motors Centre in Oshawa. In that position, he is responsible for
planning, coordinating, and facilitating the logistics of events in the facility.
Jeremy is excited at the prospect of coming to Peterborough. “I am thrilled to be contributing
to such a well established building that has strong partnerships in the Peterborough
community. I am grateful to contribute to the continued success of the PMC.”
According to the City’s Arena Division Manager, Sue Warrington: “Jeremy will bring an
exciting energy as the leader of the Memorial Centre team. His experience in the event
industry will benefit us and our goal of increasing the event schedule at the PMC.”
In Oshawa, Jeremy is also responsible for dealing with a comparable range of internal and
external stakeholders. He works closely with the Oshawa Generals OHL team and the
Durham TurfDogs Lacrosse Team. Prior to that, Jeremy was the Food and Beverage
Manager at the Oshawa Golf and Curling Club.
City of Peterborough CAO, Allan Seabrooke, summarizes the City’s position best. “With the
hiring of Jeremy Giles, the City is signaling our move to a new era of fresh perspectives and
innovative facility management for the Memorial Centre.”
Jeremy will assume his new responsibilities on Monday, February 22, 2016.
