MET/CAL Plus Service Pack 3 includes a comprehensive set of procedures which you can use
right out of the box to automate many popular
pieces of test equipment. Even more procedures
are available for purchase, or included free with a
MET/SUPPORT Gold software support program.

Enhanced flexible standards
MET/CAL software’s flexible standard feature
allows procedures to be written using an alias
name for a standard instead of calling a specific
FSC. When the procedure runs, the MET/CAL software checks to see what actual model has been
configured with that alias name and then uses a
special sub-procedure to send out the correct control
codes to communicate with your instrument.
Enhancements in Service Pack 3 add frequency
measurement capability to the digital multimeter
flexible standards driver. Support for the Agilent
3458A and Fluke 8508A meters has also been
added.

New Microsoft® Windows Installer
Installing MET/CAL Plus SP3 is now easier than
ever, thanks to a simplified installation function.
The installation is efficient, in part, because the
calibration data engine is installed as a Windows service by default. The upgrade function
has been simplified too, so upgrading your
MET/CAL software will be easier in future.
Improved customization for reports
MET/CAL Plus enables you to utilize pictures
to help a user proceed step by step through
a calibration and answer questions based on
what happens during the tests. For example,
after a test step, the technician might be asked
to compare a picture of a display with the actual
display on the unit under test, to make a pass
or fail test decision. Service Pack 3 enables you
to customize the results text that appears after
such a picture, so you can be more descriptive
about the evaluation being made. This gives you
additional flexibility to customize your calibration reports.
Additional MATH functionality
New MATH functions and utilities have been
added to MET/CAL SP3, including linear regression capability, resulting in increased flexibility
and improved productivity.

New benefits and new
procedures are being
added continuously, so the
service maintains its value

Multiple aliases
Past versions of MET/CAL Plus software limited
you to two aliases. With MET/CAL Plus Service
Pack 3 you now have multiple aliases available
to you. This feature allows you to call an instrument by multiple names—for example, Fluke
8845A, DMM, and bench meter—while minimizing the amount of editing you need to do to the
procedure.
Test Step 2 result quantity override
VSET TSTEP allows a procedure writer to override MET/CAL software’s Test Step 2 result
quantity, which is helpful for statistical data
mining.
