for the individual terms for Summer 2016. Students enrolling after the payment due date for the term must pay in full or enter
the payment plan by 8:00 pm that day. All payment plans are established at www.rcbc.edu; click on Business Office/Payments,
then click on Payment Plan Options and follow the instructions. If you are registered for more than one term you must establish a payment plan for each term. Terms cannot be combined. A $25.00 payment plan enrollment fee is charged to the
student each semester. Payments will be withdrawn from the account that you used to establish your payment plan. Payment
in full is also available online by credit card/debit card through your Web Advisor account at no charge. Payment by electronic
check is available through the payment plan and costs $2.00 per payment. It is the student’s responsibility to report ALL class
schedule changes to the Business Office so that your agreement can be adjusted (increased, decreased or terminated) if enrolled
in the payment plan. If financial aid is disbursed to your account, only then you can contact the Business Office and terminate your agreement. Notification less then ten days prior to your payment withdrawal will not insure canceling the payment.
All missed payment plan payments will incur a $30.00 missed payment fee as outlined in your agreement.
Your registration creates a financial obligation to the College and all applicable charges are due by the due dates established by the College. You must drop classes online or in person by the specified deadline. Withdrawals must be requested
in person after the Drop period. Non attendance in a class does not void your registration or your term/semester bill.
Please note that the schedule you receive when you register is also your bill and has the payment due date(s) listed. All
dates are subject to change without notice.

DISTANCE LEARNING
Distance
Education
COLLEGE CREDIT
ANYWHERE, ANYTIME
DISTANCE EDUCATION
OUR FACULTY
Rowan College at Burlington County has been providing distance learning classes since 1978. Each semester,
classes are offered which span the disciplines from Art to
Music and from Biology to Physical Science. Distance
learning courses are part of the curriculum, allowing students to learn whenever and wherever it’s convenient for
them, while satisfying degree requirements.
College faculty are available on-line to answer questions
and direct student learning. Faculty teaching on-line
meet the same rigorous standards as those teaching in
RCBC classrooms. In fact, some on-line faculty also
teach on-campus, while others, selected from among
the top practitioners in their fields, may be located anywhere in the world!
Distance learning courses typically include:
• textbook readings
• web based resources
• interaction with highly qualified faculty
• interaction with fellow students
• projects and exams
OUR STUDENTS
COURSE DELIVERY SYSTEM
Our courses are delivered using a state-of-the-art course
management system which enables dynamic college
level instruction over the Internet. Courses are hosted
on the Blackboard Learn™ Course Delivery System Enterprise License version 9.1. To see if your computer
is compatible, please visit rcbc.edu/distance-education/
technical-support and click the System Requirements
link in the tool box on the left hand side of your screen.
Most modern web browsers are compatible, and if necessary you can probably find and download the necessary software for free. Compatible computers are also
available to students on every RCBC campus.
Thousands of RCBC students take online courses
every year. Students who are self-motivated and highly
organized tend to be successful in Distance Education
courses.
IS DISTANCE EDUCATION FOR YOU?
You can visit rcbc.edu/distance-education at any time,
or click Is Distance Learning for You from the Distance
Education homepage to find out.
NEED MORE INFORMATION?
For the latest and most up-to-date information on
Distance Education and current course offerings, please
visit our website at rcbc.edu/distance-education or
contact the Office of Distance Education by e-mail to
dlearn@bcc.edu or by calling extension 1790 at
(609) 894-9311 or (856) 222-9311.
Login instructions for on-line classes will be sent to each student’s RCBC-provided
(“rcbc.edu/email”) e-mail account shortly before the semester begins.
Other important information is also distributed by the RCBC e-mail system.
It is vital that students check their accounts at rcbc.edu/email before and
during each semester while they are taking distance education courses at RCBC.

FT. DIX CLASS VISITOR PASS PROCEDURES
The Joint Base requires visitor passes for non-military
students attending Ft. Dix classes only. Students will
need to supply the following documents at the Joint
Base 5 days prior to the start of class in order to receive
a visitor pass. Please note that these documents need
to be supplied for each individual student, not just the
driver of the vehicle.
• A valid (current) state driver’s license.
• A valid (current) state auto registration.
• A valid (current) auto insurance card for at least the
length of the class. In cases where insurance does
not cover the length of the class, the pass will only
be issued to that date – they must return for another pass with updated auto insurance.
Please Note: Students and instructors must depart the
Joint Base within 30 minutes of the end of the class.
Please call (609) 754-2577 with any questions.
Be sure to purchase textbooks in advance at the Pemberton or
Mt. Laurel campus bookstores for all McGuire & Ft. Dix location courses.

CONFIDENTIALITY OF STUDENT RECORDS
The Family Educational Rights and
Privacy Act (FERPA) affords students
certain rights with respect to their
education records. They are:
(1) The right to inspect and review the
student’s education records within 45 days of
the day the College receives a request for access.
Students should submit to the Registrar or
other appropriate official, written requests that
identify the record(s) they wish to inspect. The
Registrar will make arrangements for access
and notify the student of the time and place
where the records may be inspected. Records
will be inspected under the supervision of an
appropriate College employee. If the records
are not maintained by the College official to
whom the request was submitted, that official
shall advise the student of the correct official
to whom the request should be addressed.
(2) The right to request the amendment
of the student’s education records that
the student believes are inaccurate or
misleading.
Students may ask the College to amend a
record that they believe is inaccurate or misleading. The written request must clearly identify the part of the record they want changed,
and specify why it is inaccurate or misleading.
If the College decides not to amend the record
as requested by the student, the College will
notify the student of the decision and advise
the student of his or her right to a hearing regarding the request for amendment. Additional information regarding the hearing
procedures will be provided to the student
when notified of the right to a hearing.
(3) The right to consent to disclosures
of personally identifiable information
contained in the student’s education records,
except to the extent that FERPA authorizes
disclosure without consent.
One exception which permits disclosure without consent is disclosure to school officials with
legitimate educational interests. A school official is a person employed by the College in an
administrative, supervisory, academic or research, or support staff position (including law
enforcement unit personnel and health staff);
a person or company with whom the College
has contracted (such as an attorney, auditor,
consultant, or collection agent); a person serving on the Board of Trustees; or a student serving on an official committee, such as a
disciplinary or grievance committee, or assisting another school official in performing his or
her tasks.
A school official has a legitimate educational
interest if the official needs to review an education record in order to fulfill his or her professional responsibility. Rowan College at
Burlington County may share with its partnership colleges and universities information
regarding applicants who indicate an intent to
enroll in any of those institutions.
(4) The right to file a complaint with the U.S.
Department of Education concerning alleged
failures by Rowan College at Burlington
County to comply with the requirements of
FERPA. The name and address of the Office
that administers FERPA are:
Family Policy Compliance Office, U.S. Department of Education, 400 Maryland Avenue, SW, Washington, D.C. 20202
A copy of the RCBC policy and a copy
of the FERPA regulations are on file in the offices of the Registrar, the Vice President of Student Success, and the Library.
