ADCP-90-136 • Issue 2 • May 1999 Fiber Distribution Frame Rear-Side Cable Retainers Instruction Sheet Revision History 1 ISSUE DATE REASON FOR CHANGE Issue 1 07/89 Original. Issue 2 05/99 Update to current format standards GENERAL INFORMATION This instruction sheet provides the installation procedures for the rear-side cable retainers. The rearside cable retainers are designed for installation on cross-connect-type fiber distribution frames. Retainers are available in four sizes to accommodate frames that are spaced 0, 2.5, or 5.0 inches apart, or frames that have end guards installed. The rear-side cable retainers enhance the rear cable management system by providing additional cable retention points for equipment cables. The rear-side cable retainers, shown in Figure 1, are not furnished with the frame and must be ordered separately if required by the application. Cable retainers may be installed as needed to facilitate the routing of equipment cables. Two #6-32 × 1/4 inch screws are provided to mount each cable retainer to the cable plate. 2 INSTALLATION Mount the cable retainers on the small tabs that project from the cable plates as shown in Figure 2. Use two #6-32 × 1/4 inch screws to secure each cable retainer to the cable plate. Do not secure retainers to any tabs that are used or will be used for mounting outside plant cable clamps.
