The 601 Series are a Professional range of low voltage downlight fittings using
MR16 low voltage lamps, with each lamp adjustable in any direction.
The 601 Series downlight range also have a protective metal casing which
stops any loose or flammable material from coming into contact with the lamp,
making them ideal for any installation where ceiling insulation is present.
* Please ensure insulation material is kept at a distance or at least 25mm from all sides of
protective metal casing.

designed clip for easy installation and all come complete with electronic
ballast (dimmable on request).
With a range of sizes and various lamp styles we feel that, in today’s energy
conscious environment, particularly the VB822 with its 145mm² compact size
and high light output (available in 2 x 13W or 2 x 18W), will more than meet
the expectations of today’s ‘green’ consumer.

LED Lighting - The Future!!
LED lighting is also called “photon fusion” and “solid-state lighting” (SSL).
LED’s are LIGHT EMITTING DIODES - electrical, one-way valves that glow
instead of getting hot when a lot of pressure is put through them. They simply
put out light, instead of heat, like a normal diode on a PCB board. The heart
of a LED is a semiconductor chip of which one side is attached on the top of
an “anvil” - that is the negative power lead. This is entirely encapsulated in an
epoxy resin enclosure. Electrons jump and recombine from one side of the
semiconductor meeting “holes” on the other side and this energy release results in photons of light. That is why LED shines. The wavelength of light and
additional materials, such as phosphor, produce a distinct LED colour.
These diodes are sealed in resin to make them shockproof and waterproof. This is very different to the traditional filament bulbs that rely on a very thin piece of wire strung between two poles that burn very brightly when
a current is passed through it. The wire burns continuously whilst giving off quite a deal of wasted heat. Glass
filament bulbs are thin and also fragile, which keeps an industry alive replacing light bulbs. The industry standard for LED is around 50,000hrs. As all things do they will degrade initially up to 10% over the first 1000hrs of
operation followed by a slower rate of decline to 30% loss after 50,000hrs.
Commercially available LED’s are generally blue LED’s with a fluorescence applied to them and it’s the fluorescence that degrades, not the diode itself. It also depends if the LED’s are being "driven" hard or voltage is variable. The types of commercial dome-type LED’s available these days are called "static sensitive" and can be
badly affected by variations in voltage and current - that's why they're OK on batteries (if not run too low) or
LED dedicated drivers, but sensitive to other forms of power like 240VAC or 12VAC transformers.
The Vibe range of LED’s includes internal down and wall lights, as well as external wall and inground uplights,
available in die-cast aluminium or stainless steel. We recommend dedicated LED drivers, except where noted
otherwise.

WHAT IS AN IP (INGRESS PROTECTION) RATING?
The type of protection covered by this system of classification is a follows:
A) Protection of persons against contact with or
approach to live parts and against contact
with moving parts (other than smooth rotating
shafts and the like) inside the enclosure and
protection of the equipment against ingress
of solid foreign bodies.
The designation to indicate the degrees of
protection consists of the characteristic letters IP
followed by two numerals (the "characteristic
numerals") indicating conformity with the conditions
stated in Tables A and B respectively.
