established contact vvith j_t. The Bn remcin ed in posn during the
night ~d on the morning of 31 October it begcn its move to DEYCIMONT
in Di v reserve. 2d Bn was relieved by Co 11 G11 , l43d Inf, c.nd moved
out to the E follo'Y'.ring the attack of the 442d Inf. It established
positions at V-333590 - V-330587 - V-333587 before nightfall wnd held
them for the remainder of the period. 3d Bn held posns along line
V-335591 to V-335595, until the morning of 31 October. It attacked
to th f: E c..t 310900A October, but encountered strong enemy resistanc~
' mrnediately and were unable to move forward.

l42d Inf Regt: RCT held defensive posns and ma.int2ined constant
lateral contact with all'units and 3 DIA throughout the period.
Bn moved to LEPANGES in Div reserve closing at 301900A October.
3 DIA (Fr) continued to hold its defensive positions.
