APPLICATIONS OF FOREIGN NATIONAL GRADUATE STUDENTS FROM UNIVERSITIES ABROAD
Required Documents:
1. Diploma: Bachelor’s diploma for M. Sc. applicants, Bachelor’s and M. Sc. diploma for Ph.D.
applicants.
2. Note Status Certificate: For M. Sc. applications bachelor’s degree transcripts, for Ph.D.
applications bachelor’s and graduate transcripts.
3. ALES (GRE) Results
4. Two reference letters
5. It’s necessary for the applicants of 30% English supported Turkish programs to have a
certificate from TÖMER (Turkish Learning Center) or DEDAM (Dokuz Eylul University
Language Research and Teaching Center) for evidence of proficiency in Turkish. Applicants of
100 % English programs may bring their TÖMER or DEDAM certificates during their education
period.
6. English Proficiency Licenses:
According to Dokuz Eylül University Graduate Education Regulations, candidates, applying to
the programs of The Graduate School at 2016/2017 Academic Year, should certify that they
have (in last 3 years), for M. Sc. applicants minimum 50 from central foreign language
examination (English) or an equivalent score from the examinations that are recognized
equivalent by OSYM (Student Selection and Placement Center) Board and for Ph. D. applicants
minimum 60 from central foreign language examination (English) or an equivalent score from
the examinations that are recognized equivalent by OSYM (Student Selection and Placement
Center) Board. For M. Sc. applicants, the scores under 60 are obliged to have foreign language
preparatory education.

Academic programs that foreign students may apply, student quotas; necessary titles to be
accepted to the programs, undergraduate and graduate diplomas and requirements for each
program of DOKUZ EYLÜL UNIVERSITY GRADUATE SCHOOL OF NATURAL AND
APPLIED SCIENCES “THESIS M. SC., NON-THESIS M. SC. and PH. D.” for education at
2016/2017 Academic Year Fall Semester are stated below:
Candidates should submit their documents to the Graduate School of Natural and Applied
Sciences’ Students Affairs Office between July 11-20, 2016; until 5:00pm.
Graduate education of Computer Engineering, Biomedical Technologies, Environmental
Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Statistics and Mathematics Programs are
in English.
According to Dokuz Eylül University, Graduate Education Regulations 6/3-4.for M. Sc.
candidates and 8/5.for Ph. D. candidates; Institute Board of Directors will decide about the
applications regarding their ALES (GRE) results; for masters degree programs with their
undergraduate grade, for doctoral degree programs with their graduate and undergraduate
grades in accordance with corresponding department chair’s opinion.
Approval of the Higher Education Council should be asked about whether Undergraduate /
Graduate education is appropriate or the previous education is recognized by the Board of
Higher Education. (The applications not having the approval document of Higher Education
Council will be conditionally accepted until the applicants get the approval.)
Candidates can apply to a maximum of three programs if they have necessary degree title.
PS: All the documents should be in English or translated to Turkish.
Candidates whose applications are finalized with acceptance will register between September
05-08, 2016; for the substitutional students registration will be on September 09, 2016.
Registration to the courses is between September 19-23, 2016 at Dokuz Eylül University, The
Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences, Tınaztepe Campus- Buca/ İZMİR
