Characteristics:
Come-alongs used to put tension in
the horizontal lifeline should have a
minimum safe working load of 2,000
pounds, based on a safety factor of at
least two. A come-along which meets
the strength requirements indicated
above may be left in line with the
horizontal lifeline as an active
component only if a "safety link" is
installed parallel with the come-along
to act as a redundant load path.
