Telford offers a wide range of excellent
correspondence programmes leading to
qualifications. These qualifications are
part-time, low-cost and start on the first day
of each month. They cover a range of topics at
all levels. The qualifications are either Telford
Learning Modules or unit standards, and unit
standards may be cross-credited to National
Certificates. Telford’s correspondence programme
offers the opportunity to complete a qualification
while remaining employed, or to extend
knowledge in a specific area of interest.

Programme Delivery
Telford Farm
Once enrolled, you will receive a learning package
which includes:
Telford Farm is owned by the Telford Farm Training
Institute, which has a long and proud history of
training New Zealand farmers. The farm extends
over 921 hectares, of which 20 hectares is the
Telford Campus. The Campus includes halls of
residence, technical workshops (machinery,
carpentry and welding), classrooms and an
equine unit.

The Telford Farm is made up of three commercial
units: a 3000-ewe sheep unit, a 700-cow dairy
unit and a 300-hind deer unit.

A broad overview
The Telford Certificate in Agriculture Knowledge
(Level 2) provides students with a broad overview
of a range of agricultural topics. The different
subject areas covered within the course are ideal
for farmers, lifestyle block owners, or people
simply interested in agriculture. The course does
not contain any practical work, and students may
progress onto Level 3 if so desired.

If you’re interested in a career working with your
hands and like the outdoors, but you’re still not
quite sure which career path you want to take,

The Telford Taster Camps are run during the

a citizen of New Zealand (including students from the Cook Islands, Tokelau, or Niue who have
New Zealand citizenship) OR a permanent resident of New Zealand OR a citizen or permanent

Qualifications Authority (Record of Learning registration and Unit Standard outcomes), Tertiary
Education Commission (funding returns), Industry Training Organisations (funding and academic
