Network Services
The network-connected services extend the
utility and use on a daily basis. Some of these are
included with every Companion and some are optional.
The extensibility of each smartscreen also means you
can expect more from the Wizards at Convergent.
Firefox browser – with preset favorites, bookmarks,
+/- font adjustments, on-screen keyboard, and onetouch toggle back into Companion control.
Digital Photo Sync – (coming) syncs with optional
Internet service for storing, managing and sharing your
digital collection. With DPS, others can add photos to
be viewed throughout the home.
Monitor – offers interesting webcam content like traffic
feeds, 5-day forecasts, live radar, traffic grids, or almost
anything. Space stations, earthquake tracking, marina
cams, and more! Can be set to be the default
screensaver as well.
iRadio
– Customizable internet radio from your
smartscreen. Most Shoutcast-compliant feeds work
and can be used as a source for preamps.
Remote Diagnostics – In most cases Convergent
knows when settings have been misapplied or a
controller has logged off the network. If a MAC address
is provided, we can help monitor the home systems.
Internet Time – Direct from Boulder’s nuclear clock,
Companion can stay in sync with the world’s premier
timepiece.
ConvergentAccess – Optional “home-away-fromhome” remote control using your secure login from
your laptop anywhere in the world. Requires a
SideKick. Very cool and useful.

powerline technologies and usually perform very well without tweaks to the electrical system of the
residence by adding couplers, repeaters or filtering. Large scale UPB tests show reliability to be over
