Kids’ groups today Today is Holiday Family Worship, which means we are giving our regular kids workers a rest and instead we have teams of people leading craft and games for the kids. Creche will operate in the usual way but 2s-­‐14s are invited to the Extension for Crafts or North foyer for games. Summer Youth and Children’s activities – when can you help? To give our hardworking youth and kids teams a break over the summer, we are so grateful to those who have volunteered to lead some games, craft activities or simply watch a DVD during Sunday worship through the summer. There are still a few slots left, so if you can help please sign up for a week on the list at the welcome desk. All activities prepared. See Bruce Watson for more details. Those returning from New Wine and all that God was at work doing there this week Talks from St Georges visit to St Johns Kenilworth Shiela, Chris, Ben, Bruce and Alison were in Kenilworth a fortnight ago to talk about our experience of shaping a church of missionary disciples through Missional Communities. We have now put copies of the talks on our website-­‐ so anyone who would like to better understand what we’re doing and why – have a listen! Bill Hybels is Senior Pastor at Willow Creek Church in Chicago, and has a world-­‐wide ministry but is firmly rooted in his local (big!) church. Anthony was once a police officer in Manchester, now leader of Ivy Church planting network, and a friend who I met at Vicar college! Please use the addresses on the back page of the newsletter to contact staff. Lighting replacement It’s nearly finished! You’ll notice this week that most of the ‘houselights’ have been replaced, and the rest will be done next week. Our electrical contractors will be in church again this week to complete everything. They will again work around Centrepoint Communion on Wednesday, and the church will be out of action for the rest of the week. Cake for Soul Survivor! 15 young people and 3 leaders will be heading off for Soul Survivor on August 13th –
and they would love a little bit of cake to take with them. If you would like to bake a small amount of cake that will keep in a tin for the 5 days they are there, please let Tom Keenan know that you can do so – and drop the cake in on Friday 12th to Hope House Please pray for our Mission Partners for July: Christian Concern -­‐ who campaign on a wide range of issues that affect our nation. They aim to raise up a Christian voice of truth and hope in a number of areas.
