Peachtree Wind Ensemble has served as the Southern Crescent's community band since 1991, offering musicians and the community opportunities to enjoy music together in and around Peachtree City, Ga.
Peachtree Wind Ensemble is a non-auditioning community concert band that rehearses and performs in and around Peachtree City, Ga. Its members come from all professions and include amateur musicians, music professionals, and those returning to music. Together we share a passion for music and believe that a community rich in the arts, flourishes.

Peachtree Wind Ensemble is open to musicians ages 18 and older. The only requirement is a love for music. Our 50-member ensemble rehearses on Monday nights from 7:30-9:00 p.m. at
St. Paul Lutheran Church & School, 700 Ardenlee Parkway, Peachtree City, Ga. Rehearsals run 11 months out of the year with breaks during summer vacation and winter holidays. The ensemble performs 10-20 concerts a year in Fayette & Coweta Counties, and also plays joint concerts with the Point University Community Band in West Point, Ga. Our large and varied repertoire, suitable for the entire family, is selected to encourage listener involvement and encompasses the finest of classical to contemporary music.
Under the direction of Mike Daniell, the
Peachtree Wind Ensemble performs marches, show tunes, jazz, classical / symphonic adaptations for band, Broadway and modern pop-style tunes. Seasonal songs are frequently heard, as are innovative compositions from modern composers.

Peachtree Wind Ensemble is ideal for large community events such as festivals, art shows, church barbeques, and holiday gatherings. The ensemble performs free of charge, or sometimes suggests donations to cover marketing and travel costs. This packet includes information on our music directors, and our past and present programs. Mike Daniell is a graduate of The University of the State of New
York with a bachelor’s degree in Music History and Trumpet
Performance, and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in
Louisville, Ky., with a master’s degree in church music, with emphasis in Trumpet Performance, Instrumental Pedagogy, and
Choral Pedagogy. He holds the Honors Award Certificate in
Orchestral Instrument Studies from that institution. Additional studies include trumpet, music education, choral and instrumental conducting at Columbus College, Columbus, Ga., and The
University of South Florida, Tampa, Fla.
Mike has served as clinician in bands in Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina. He currently is a member of the Lafayette Brass Quintet, and is on the conducting staff for the
Twilight Theatre.
Teaching and conducting responsibilities include positions in Savannah, Ga., as Director of
Bands for the Westminster School, and St Andrews School. For 14 years he was on the
Faculty of Armstrong Atlantic State University, where he served as Director of the
Community Music School, Co-Conductor of the Armstrong Community Band, and Instructor of Music Education, Music Appreciation and Trumpet. Currently Mr. Daniell is on the instrumental music faculty at Point University, and serves as Music Director of the North
Fayette United Methodist Church in Fayetteville.
Bill Greenhaw is a native of Alabama and a graduate of Jacksonville
State University with a bachelor’s degree in Music Education, and The
University of Alabama with a master’s degree in Music Education. He also holds master’s and educational specialist degrees in
Administration from West Georgia College and State University.
He served as Director of Bands at schools in Georgia and Alabama and was Assistant Director of Bands at the University of Alabama for a time as well as serving in the 55th Army Band. Before retiring from
Fayette County Schools in 2004, he served as an administrator in the
Fayette County Georgia School for 23 years.
Mr. Greenhaw has conducted several of his compositions and arrangements for band at schools and venues in the southeast and has compositions for concert band published with
Matrix Music Publishers. He performs as trombonist and bass trombonist locally and is a member of the NBA, GMEA, MENC and ASCAP. www.peachtreewindensemble.org
