MISSION STATEMENT:
Architecture is, first and foremost, about building
design and construction.
Klitzing Welsch Associates understands these
basics of both architecture itself and the
profession of architecture.
This understanding, along with the firm's experience,
is applied to produce an ever-maturing building aesthetic
and complete and accurate construction documents.
FIRM HISTORY:
Joseph H. Klitzing and Joseph C. Welsch founded Klitzing Welsch Associates,
Inc. (KWA) on January 1st, 1990. KWA is a full service Architectural Firm,
specializing in commercial, historic renovations and food service projects.
Presently the firm consists of a staff of twenty-three, three of which are registered
architects.
PRINCIPALS:
Mr. Klitzing, President was first registered to practice Architecture in the State of
Missouri in 1984, and has been employed in the field of architecture since 1973.
Certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) in
1991, he currently holds architectural licenses for the following states:
Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Maryland,
Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, North
Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, West Virginia,
Wisconsin.
As Principal in charge of design and production, Mr. Klitzing endeavors to
produce Projects that are aesthetically pleasing, functional and cost effective.
Mr. Welsch, Vice-President, has been involved in the Design and Construction
business since 1970. An Aerospace Engineer by education, he started his career
with Texaco, Inc. as District Construction Engineer in designing and building
Texaco Service Stations, bulk plants, and terminal projects throughout the
Midwest. After seven years with Texaco, he started with The Southland
Corporation as the Division Construction Manager, responsible for all
construction, remodeling, gasoline installations, and maintenance in a nine state
area. Mr. Welsch started his own consulting firm, J.C. Welsch & Associates, Inc.
in 1988, designing and building stores for independent oil jobbers, utilizing the
services of Joseph H. Klitzing, Architect on an as-needed job basis. In January
1990, Klitzing Welsch Associates, Inc. was formed with Klitzing and Welsch as
sole stockholders.
EXPERIENCE:
During the past fifteen years KWA has been the Architectural Firm of record for a
wide range of Project types, ranging from single family homes and light
commercial to the renovation of the Historic Chase Park Plaza. Included in this
experience are many completed Historic Renovation Projects and several more
which are in varying stages of construction or design.
KWA is large enough to produce your Project yet small enough to provide the
service you deserve.
