Zsolt M. KOVACS VAJNA
Zsolt M. Kovacs Vajna was born in Budapest (Hungary). He received the D.Eng. degree with honors
from University of Bologna, Italy, in 1988. He’s completed a Specialization in Organization and
Management at the University of Bologna in 1989. He received the Ph.D. degree in "Electronics
Engineering and Computer Sciences" from the same University in 1994 thanks to his research
activity on circuit simulation techniques and on handwritten character recognitions systems. From
1989 to 1998 he was with the Department of Electronics, Computer Sciences and Systems (DEIS)
in Bologna, where he was Assistant Professor and Research Associate in Electronics. In 1998 he
joined the Department of Electronics Engineering (now Department of Information Engineering) of
the University of Brescia, Italy. He’s founded the Microelectronics Laboratory which offers research
opportunities to students at MS, doctorate and post-doc levels. The laboratory is also the core of
many research activities funded by several companies, like ST Microelectronics.
Mr. Kovacs is currently Full Professor of Electronics and teaches the courses of "Microelectronics"
and "Electronics Circuit Design".
Mr. Kovacs is reviewer of the major scientific journals in the field of electronics. He is also member
of the Italian national fund reviewer board.
His current research interests include analogue integrated circuit design, circuit simulation
techniques, electromagnetic interference analysis in integrated circuits, modelling of organic
devices, genetic variation and Alzheimer’s disease association techniques, and color theory. He
authors more than 160 international scientific publications, including articles in journals, in
conference proceedings and 35 patents. He is Senior Member of the IEEE.
