Handouts were given to the committee about the lab portion. The committee discussed the equivalency of the lab experience, are there other colleges that have done the same? For articulation, we have to verify that the student will have an equivalent experience to an instructional lab setting. Dr. Marvin also discussed the legal aspect of this being an online course and will make inquiries to the district legal department. Recommendations: Consider hybrid option or dual‐enrollment/partnership with the high school to use the high school's kitchen for the lab option. CIC MINUTES 5 If hybrid option is considered it needs to be selected as a delivery method. Are all the other course components necessary for the proposed AS‐T degree in Nutrition and Dietetics in place already? Recommendations: Action: In comparing the C‐ID descriptor, I am not sure if topics that may seem to be missing. For example, seasonal change is in the C‐ID course description, but not in ours. SLO/Objective alignment will be very helpful. At least one of the C‐ID textbooks should be an option on our COR. Make sure content is aligned (and where implied be more explicit) with C‐ID. Per, Heather's comments. SLOs check if they are C‐ID, and you can reduce them and make them easier to assess, move the required C‐ID SLOs to Objectives in the Detailed Topical Outline. Vivian recommends that where possible reduce the number of SLOs and ensure they are an umbrella over the objectives, and do‐able for faculty to assess. Prerequisites/Advisory Math currently none. C‐ID ‐ Advisory ENGL C070 and MATH C050 Rigor statement example of how the lab is done online. Needs a rigor statement if being taught online and face‐to‐face. Recommendations: Requisites ‐ Advisory: Are all three CHDV 102, 104 and 106 needed as advisories? Should there be an alternative advisory after the 'or' at the end of paragraph? Topical Outline: Use consistent capitalization throughout. Some items use end‐punctuation while others do not. SLO 4: "Identify the role of partnerships and families and other professionals in utilizing interpretations of observational data to inform teaching practices." Should this be something like "Identify the role of partnering with families and other professionals to interpreting and utilize data." DETAILED TOPICAL OUTLINE Objective 1: "The legal and ethical properties." Of what? Clarify. Objective: 3: "well?being" typo. Objective 5: Needs a period. Objective 6: "play?based" typo.
