DESCRIPTION
The Edge-Lit Combo (ELC) Series is the first Sure-Lites architectural grade
emergency fixture that combines both an exit sign and emergency lights.
When compared to similar units, the ELC offers a much smaller, less
noticeable footprint while providing state of-the art electrical design and
the latest lamping technology. The ELC is a recessed combo that includes
powerful MR11 emergency lamps and energy efficient exit sign LEDs. A
patented snap-in clear acrylic lens with a universal face and field installed
chevrons is provided for ease of ordering and installation. Standard
features for this fixture includes code approved self diagnostics and laser
testing along with remote battery capacity to power additional lamps.

The ELC series utilizes long-life, energy efficient
LEDs to offer uniform exit sign panel
illumination. Powerful MR11 lamping, available
in a variety of sizes (12W, 20W, 35W), provides
egress lighting.
Sure-Lites Sealed Lead Calcium batteries are
maintenance free and have a life expectancy of
at least 5 years. These rechargeable batteries
provide the dependable performance needed to
illuminate exit signs and emergency lights
during a power failure. Optional Sealed Nickel
Cadmium batteries are also available. These
premium batteries have a life expectancy of 15
years.
H o u s i n g C o n s t ru c t i o n
The architectural grade die cast aluminum face
plate is available in either brushed aluminum or
white finishes. Fully adjustable bar hangars, that
don’t need to be removed from the frame for
shortening, help to simplify the installation. The
recessed galvanized steel housing is designed
for ceiling applications and is suitable for either
T-grid suspended ceilings or 2x8 construction.

All Sure-Lites’ products are backed by a firm
one-year warranty against defects in material
and workmanship. The Sealed Lead Calcium
batteries carry a five year pro-rata warranty and
the Sealed Nickel Cadmium batteries include a
fifteen year pro-rata warranty.
The injection molded, clear acrylic panel is
designed to clearly illuminate the wording while
minimizing the presence of the fixture. An edge
reflector has been added to the panel for
eliminating stray light while enhancing the
sign’s visibility. The panel is designed to allow
the fixture to blend in with decorative spaces.
The snap-in lens and field installed chevrons
help to simplify the installation.
The “Rule of Thumb” spacing guidelines are designed to achieve 1 foot-candle average and 0.1 foot-candle minimum with a 40:1 maximum/minimum ratio. The corridor used is 100
feet long, 9-foot ceiling with a 6-foot wide walkway and 3-foot path of egress. The reflectances are 80% ceiling, 50% walls and 20% floors. The fixture mounting height is 8.5 feet.
