Manager
Quality and Operational Excellence (QO) Manager will support the Country
Manager, business managers, operations managers, OPEX managers and
SCM managers in developing Quality and Operational Excellence strategies for
the business and supporting the businesses in executing OPEX priorities and
plans. Leads the country-wide OPEX functions. Country Quality/OPEX
Manager is a member of the NAM Operational Excellence Leadership team
leading the deployment of Region-wide and Group Quality and OPEX priorities
and plans across ABB businesses in the country.

Tasks
- Leads the Quality and OPEX functions for Canada
- Supports business managers to continuously improve
operational performance with primary goals of 100% in:
- Customer quality
- Customer on time delivery
- Supplier quality
- Supplier on time delivery and;
- Achieve cost savings targets
- Supports business units in expeditious resolution of issues
on customer orders and issues cited in NPS feedback and

CCRP
- Collaborates with business managers to develop Quality /
OPEX strategy and agenda aligned with the realities of the
market place and ABB’s business needs
- Collaborates with business managers and leads Quality and
OPEX managers in mapping business processes, identifying
key business issues, supporting implementation of process
improvement initiatives, and driving a continuous
improvement culture
- Collaborates with SCM and business managers to improve
suppliers’ quality and on time delivery
The successful candidate will have a “service attitude”
recognizing that the primary mission of an OPEX leader’s role
is to provide a value-added service to business unit
managers, develop a continuous improvement culture, and
help deliver tangible, bottom-line results.
Requirements
- University degree in related discipline with a minimum of 7 to
10 years relevant experience cross industries within a
manufacturing environment
- Previous P&L responsibilities & experience with assessment
of internal & external suppliers globally.
The incumbent will have both a strong technical and business
background to enable him/her to recognize key business
issues facing the company in the near-term and longer-term
market trends and global competitiveness. Demonstrate
capabilities, solid track records and tangible results in global
& complex organization.
- Bilingualism (French & English would be a definite asset for
the role.
