Novel multi-functional materials which can produce visible, ultraviolet and infrared laser radiation at wavelengths that are presently inaccessible via conventional sources for many industrial, medical, biological and entertainment applications. Calculate the properties of bulk and low dimensional nanoscale materials such as nanotubes, nanowires, nonomaterials, Graphene, Graphane, Graphite and thin-films, etc. For the calculations we use the density functional theory (DFT); Full-Potential Linear Augmented Plane Wave (FP-LAPW) method as embodied in the WIEN2K code, also the Linear Muffin-tin orbital (LMTO) method, VASP code, and some other codes. 3.
