and inventiveness to cultural awareness,
the BENEFITS of arts exposure are
many. The Woodruff Arts Center is committed
to transforming lives through an inspiring and
culturally diverse collection of programs,
workshops, mentorships, and residencies
across our four arts partners.
From the High Museum’s guest lecture series
(Conversations with Contemporary Artists),
to providing artists a producing home for
undeveloped work (Alliance Theatre’s Reiser
Atlanta Artists Lab), and free concerts in a
local park (Atlanta Symphony’s Piedmont
Park: Performance on the Promenade),
the Woodruff Arts Center is dedicated
to bringing the best to Atlanta.

The Woodruff Arts Center utilizes a shared services model to optimize
budgets across the organization. During FY14, 50% of expenses were related
to artistic offerings and educational programming. The remaining expenses
included 27% administrative costs, 17% for outreach and awareness efforts,
and 6% for upkeep and improvement of the campus.

empower one another and enrich our lives. The Woodruff
Arts Center and our four arts partners provide diverse
opportunities for individuals of all ages to engage with
the arts directly and personally. However one chooses to
participate, the impact created by a singular experience
holds the possibility to initiate influential dialogue,
create new relationships, and sometimes, even shift a life’s direction.

A growing movement across our nation’s schools suggests the study of arts is as essential to innovation as science, technology,
engineering and math.

The Woodruff Arts Center brings a sense of
community through the sharing of collective
experiences. Children as young as 18 months
become our youngest patrons through programs
such as the Alliance’s Theatre For the Very
Young. Once in school, students take field
trips to the High or to the Symphony or are
one of the students in the more than 200
schools and community centers that Arts
for Learning reaches.
Adolescents deepen their engagement
through programs such as Atlanta Youth
Symphony Orchestra, in which 120 talented
young musicians are challenged and mentored
by ASO musicians. The campus-wide Wells
Fargo ArtsVibe Teen Program, impacts over
26,000 teens through poetry slams, music
lessons, acting classes, among many others.
At the Woodruff Arts Center, we aim
to inspire innovation in Atlanta’s youth;
the arts unlock their potential. They will
create and shape our future.

Johannes Vermeer’s “Girl with a Pearl Earring.” Vermeer’s
masterwork was the central piece in an exhibition of more

Picture Gallery Mauritshuis in The Hague.
The High brought Paris to Peachtree Street with the exhibition
“The Art of the Louvre’s Tuileries Garden.” Exploring the art, design

The Woodruff Arts Center Veterans
Program is bringing the magic of music,
the vibrancy of art, and the imagination
of theater to veterans and their families
across Georgia – on the Woodruff
Arts Center campus, on military bases,
at hospitals, and through dedicated
veterans’ service organizations.
In these venues, our artists deliver
performances of appreciation; render
artwork that depicts the freedoms our
armed forces defend; and contribute
something vital to the lives of our
military families.
