Was any need assessment exercise undertaken before the development of new programme(s)? If so, highlight
the methodology.
The department of Mathematics has designed the syllabus for M.Sc. Mathematics (2008-09) after
carefully selecting the topics essential to provide excellent knowledge to the students. It was discussed
among the faculty members and subject experts from outside the university. The recommended
curriculum was finally approved by Board of Studies. The syllabus covers most of the topics suggested
by UGC. Also it is comparable to mos t of the syllabus of the renowned universities from India and
16
abroad. After successful completion of three batches the syllabus also updated time to time. With the
help of feedback obtained from students and teachers. Verbal feedback by students was taken during
their counselling sessions.
42.
