Mark X. Cicero, MD, FAAP, Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, Director, Pediatric Disaster Preparedness, Yale Pediatric Emergency Medicine, Yale School of Medicine Mark Cicero MD, FAAP is a board certified pediatrician and pediatric emergency medicine physician. He completed medical school at the University of Buffalo, residency at Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters, and fellowship at Yale University, where he is a faculty member. Dr. Cicero’s professional interests are disaster preparedness and emergency medical services for children. Mark received the Society for Pediatric Research Fellows Clinical Research Award, and has won several teaching awards as a resident, fellow, and faculty member. He serves on local and regional disaster preparedness committees, and is involved in national EMS and disaster efforts. Dr. Cicero is completing work as the primary investigator for an EMSC Targeted Issues grant; this grant focuses on the triage of pediatric disaster victims, and the development of a simulationbased disaster triage curriculum for EMTs and paramedics. Additionally, Mark is a Regional Co-Chair for the Academic Pediatrics Association, and serves on the Council of the Eastern Society for Pediatric Research. Mark lives in New Haven with daughters Paige & Jillian, son Henry, and a disastrous cat.
