MiDAS Trained Volunteers
The following people have been through the Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme
(MiDAS) and passed their assessment. Some may have had extra “Accessible” training
which covers the safe use of passenger lifts and ramps and wheelchair & passenger
restraint equipment. Please ask the volunteer if accessibility is important to your group.
The volunteers have agreed that their names can be made available to help
organisations’ who want to hire/loan a minibus to provide transport for their group and
need a trained driver.
Please note that these are volunteers and they may not be available to drive for you
when you need them. The driver’s details have been listed in the areas where they live.
They may be willing to travel to other locations so please ask.
Some of the drivers have been Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checked. It is the
“hiring” organisations’ responsibility to check and to ask relevant questions.
Important note: We are not in a position to recommend a particular volunteer. Dorset
County Council, are unable to take responsibility for the actions of these volunteers and
their inclusion does not imply any approval or inspection of their work on our part.
