Warranty:
Products returned to Microwave Filter Company, Inc. within one year of the date of purchase for original defects
will be replaced or repaired free of charge or refunded, at our option, if we confirm the defects. Otherwise, we
will notify you of the repair charges before we do any work. This is the full extent of our warranty.

About Microwave Filter Company
Microwave Filter Company, Inc. (MFC) has been a leader in the design, development and manufacture of high
quality filter products since 1967. MFC offers products covering the frequency range from 5 Hz to 50 GHz
for customers around the world. Designs include waveguide, stripline/microstrip, lumped element and cavity/
coaxial topologies. Filter types and accessories include bandpass, bandstop, combiners, couplers, diplexers,
highpass, lowpass and adaptors.
All MFC filters are produced within our facility by a staff that is “Committed to Excellence”. In fact, MFC has
received awards for its outstanding performance in providing excellent customer service, quality product and
fast turn-around for large OEM programs.
The Company received the Defense Supply Center Columbus Supplier

Facilities
The company occupies a modern 40,000 square foot facility located in the heart of
Central New York (East Syracuse). The facility is equipped with an impressive
complement of analytical and design software, test instrumentation, prototype and
manufacturing equipment to create passive filters, components and sub systems
in the frequency range from 5 Hz to 50 GHz. This manufacturing facility
includes a state-of-the-art CAD-CAM system, a test department with
automated network analyzers to 50 GHz, a high capacity conveyorized
soldering oven, fully compliant finishing operation and a TQM/
ISO9000 based quality assurance program to insure the intrinsic
quality of the products produced.

Historically, the solution for eliminating out-of-band
interference (e.g. - RADAR) has been to install a
highly-selective bandpass filter. Specifically, a filter
with a passband corresponding to that region’s standard
footprint (i.e. - 3700-4200 MHz, 3400-4200 MHz, etc.).

High Performance C-Band Interference
Elimination Filters
Model 7894D
A premium, copper-constructed bandpass filter, the model
7894D achieves the lowest VSWR of any ultra-selective
C-band BPF available in the industry.
Since low VSWR = more available signal, this filter is
ideal for eliminating WiMAX, RADAR and other sources
of interference in fringe or weak signal areas and can also
be used to optimize antenna performance at any C-band
(3.7-4.2 GHz) receive site.
Extended band (3.6-4.2 GHz) and Super-Extended band

C-Band Single Transponder Bandpass Filter
Model 17600-(Fo)
This narrow band bandpass filter prevents
undesired signals operating within the C-band
from interfering with C-band single transponder
reception that wider, full band bandpass filters
cannot prevent.
Example :
WiMAX transmitting at 3710 MHz
interferes with transponder 2 (3722-3758 MHz).
A full band bandpass filter would receive
all frequencies between (3700-4200) MHz
- including that undesired WiMAX signal,
while a narrow band model 17600-3740
filter - receiving only transponder 2 - would
typically provide 20dB rejection of that same
WiMax signal.

The model 3966 notch filter
is used to remove undesired
(in-band) carriers that disrupt
C-band reception between
(3.4-4.2) GHz. A good
example of undesired carriers
3966F Series
are WIMAX signals that operate
between (3.4-3.8) GHz :
Where operators are forced to sacrifice the lower portion of the
super-extended C-band (3.4-4.2 GHz) by installing a narrower
bandpass filter. While the bandpass filter removes the WIMAX, it
also removes the remaining C-band (3.4-3.6 GHz or 3.4-3.7 GHz),
limiting their operation to (3.6-4.2) GHz or (3.7-4.2) GHz.
In many instances, the model 3966 notch filter will allow the user to
recover much of the lower C-band, since it will notch (remove) only
the undesired signals (carriers) from their C-band feed, while
allowing all other frequencies through.
This versatile notch filter can be configured to remove from (1-6)
interfering carriers at notch depths from (15-70) dB, depending upon
the signal strength of each interfering carrier.

Example:
An operator wants to receive (3.4-4.2) GHz, but there are (3) three
interfering WIMAX carriers (in-band) identified as 3.41, 3.51 and 3.57
GHz with the strongest interference coming from the 3.57 GHz carrier.
If the operator determines that 15 dB notch loss will adequately remove
the 3.41 & 3.51 GHz carriers and more notch loss is required to remove
the 3.57 GHz carrier (30 dB ?), then the recommended filter would be
to use a 4-cavity notch filter to remove the (3) interfering carriers…..
specifically, a model 3966F-4-3-A.
This model filter would provide 15 dB notches at 3.41 GHz and at 3.51
GHz and a 30 dB notch at 3.57 GHz.
Note : When ordering, it is necessary to provide the frequencies of the carriers to be notched.

are available upon request. The series 12086 is a family of transmit rejection filters specifically addressing
the SATCOM (C-band) market. The device is installed between the antenna and
the LNA in the receive segment of satellite earth terminals. It is also used in Cband transceiver applications to isolate up-link and down-link signals.
The unit offers extremely low loss, typically less than 0.04 dB on the receive
signals, while providing a high degree of transmit rejection, ranging from 50 to
80 dB, depending upon the model. The construction of these units is 100% dip
brazed aluminum with a military grade chromate finish. This allows for years of
high performance operation. Optional paint and label configurations are available for OEM requirements. All units come standard with WR-229 grooved
flanges, with alternate configurations available upon request.

Rotatable Joint Adaptor
Model WRJA
MFC offers a line of integrated rotatable joint/waveguide to coaxial adaptors
for SATCOM and Radar applications. These devices are ideal for low power,
mobile and shipboard satellite tracking systems. This product is especially
useful where low-speed, low duty cycle rotation or partial rotation is necessary.
This product should not be confused with the significantly more expensive
Rotary joint. Rotary joint products typically are engineered for continuous duty,
pressurized, and other high performance conditions, and may meet
MIL-E-5400 Class II. These are often far too expensive for applications where
these specifications are just not required.
