Annexe to: IECEx SIR 11.0054X Issue 0 Applicant: Antech Limited Apparatus: Type X Wellhead Outlet CERTIFICATION For completeness the full description is repeated here. The Type X Wellhead Outlet is a single, integral unit consisting a circular body and lid attached to, and closed off by, a high pressure bulkhead thereby forming a terminal chamber, the Type X is rated at: T Class T6 T5 T3 Current (A) 24 3 3 Voltage (V) 440 440 275 Ambient Temperature Range -20°C to +40°C -20°C to +90°C -40°C to +160°C All mechanical parts are made from stainless steel, aluminium, aluminium-bronze, brass or beryllium-copper, where aluminium is used, this contains less than 6% magnesium by mass. The body and lid have minimum wall thicknesses of 9 mm and 6 mm respectively. The open base of the enclosure fits directly onto the wellhead and is IP54 sealed against the surrounding atmosphere via an elastomeric rubber "O" ring seal. The lid is similarly sealed to the body. Although the cable from the wellhead is sealed into the high pressure bulkhead via a high pressure, compression fitting which prevents the high wellhead pressure from entering the enclosure, this does not form part of this certificate. One, two or three AWG 18 (American Wire Gauge, 1.78 mm Overall Diameter), short, individual TFE (Teflon) insulated, multi-strand, silver coated, copper conductor wires are fixed to the wellhead cable inside the high pressure, compression fitting. These wires are sealed into the high pressure bulkhead via a combined gland/terminal block mounting stanchion at the terminal chamber side. This combined gland seals the terminal chamber via the use of an elastomeric rubber "O" ring on the outside and inner silicone rubber blanking washer, through which the wellhead wires transit. In the IECEx Version the wires are terminated into the Weidmuller Type MK6/3 (three way) terminal block, for T6 and T5, these are approved by IECEx SIR 05.0037U, coded Ex e II, for T3 Weidmuller Type SAKK (single way) rail mounted terminals are used these are approved by IECEx SIR 05.0032U, coded Ex e II. Both internal and external earths (ground connections) are provided, with all parts plated to prevent corrosion. Externally, the ground connection is made into the edge of the body, via an M4 cap head socket set screw. The terminal lug is prevented from rotating during installation by a machined counter bored slot and secured via a spring washer. The internal earth is similarly fitted into the terminal block mounting stanchion. Connection is made using the supplied cable lugs. For the T6 and T5 versions, the supply leads enter via an ‘Ex e’ certified cable gland, this gland is supplied by the customer and chosen in accordance with a recognised Code of Practice/Installation Instructions. This is typically threaded M20 but may be any suitable thread form and size. For the T3 version, the supply leads enter via a Peppers Cable Glands Limited Type A3LF, certified cable gland (supplied), approved by IECEx SIR 07.0096X, coded Ex e II. This is typically threaded M20 but may be any suitable thread form and size and approved by the certificate. The Type X Wellhead Outlet shall be installed in accordance with: For T6 & T5 versions - See drawing AN-03177 sheet 7.
