This totally enclosed fan cooled motor package offers
severe duty IP55 protection for the toughest material
processing applications such as compressors, pumps,
fans, and conveyors. Its low temperature and low
vibration design provides additional durability to withstand
these harsh environments, decreasing maintenance
requirements and chances of failures while ultimately
increasing the motor’s lifespan. Built with certain IEEE
Std. 841™ -2009 specifications, Toshiba’s Petrochem
SD+ motor is the ideal solution for the oil and gas, mining
and mineral, and pulp and paper industries.

4.2: Frame size may deviate from the frame size assignments specified in
NEMA MG 1 Part 13.
4.5: IP55 ingress test will not be performed, but the motors are designed to
meet the intent of IP55.
5.2: Some motors may have NEMA Design A torque/current characteristics.
5.4.1.c: IEEE Std 275-1992 is a withdrawn standard which shall no longer
apply.
5.4.1.d: Surge withstand capability may only meet that as defined for standard
machines in section 20.35.5 of NEMA MG 1-2011.
5.4.1.h: The use of synthetic oil-based lubricants is not recommended.
6.1.f: Bearing temperature rise may exceed the respective specified value.
6.4: Nonsparking epoxy coated Aluminum fan will be provided in lieu of the
required bronze alloy. All 2 pole motors will be uni-directional.
6.5.3.d: 6 or more leads may be used when special requirements dictate the
necessity.
6.8.b: Sound test will not be performed unless specifically requested by the
customer and quoted by Toshiba.
6.9: Vibration limits may exceed the specified design values. See Page 1 of this
document or contact Toshiba for our target unfiltered vibration velocity design
values.

8: Full load efficiency may exceed the values listed in Table 2. Standard Toshiba
high efficiency design will be provided.
9.4: Standard Toshiba test submittals will be provided.
10: Standard Toshiba nameplate(s) will be provided. Nameplate will not be
marked/labeled with the IEEE Std 841 logo. Motors will not be fully compliant
with IEEE Std 841. Guaranteed minimum efficiency will not be stated on the
nameplate unless specifically requested by the customer and quoted by
Toshiba.
Annex A: Only Standard Toshiba non-witness routine testing per IEEE 112 will
be performed. Additional testing is available for extra costs.
**The comments above shall be used for reference only and may not address
all the deviations from IEEE Std 841-2009 our motors exhibit.
