Medium Voltage Enclosure Systems.

Middle East Switchgear Ind. Ltd. (MES) was established in 1992 in Sharjah,
U.A.E. The company covers a total area of 8500 sq. meters featuring a
manufacturing facility for Electrical Switchgear.
The factory is well equipped with CNC Sheet Steel Fabrications, Powder
Coating, and Switchgear Panel Assembly facilities.
Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and numerical control machines are used
for the design and manufacture of products that conform to relevant
International Standards with strict quality control.
Having the full range of manufacturing facilities under one roof enables
us to ensure better quality, a speedy turnover, and a hands-on approach
for complete customer satisfaction. The company is also well equipped
with the most modern testing equipment to ensure the highest level of
quality control.

With its quality management and excellent technical know-how, MES has put together a team of highly

MES has also entered into technical collaboration with several leading manufacturers around the world to
provide complete technical support for various products marketed by MES, with its main objective being
the production of high quality Factory Built assemblies at competitive prices without compromising
quality.
We also have technical associations with numerous European companies to provide Flame Proof and
Explosion Proof Electrical Switchgear for the Oil & Gas Industry.
As a diversification and on-going development process, we are presently venturing into the new field of
Medium Voltage Switchgear based on vacuum & SF6 technology.
To inform our clients of the most recent technical advances in the switchgear industry and to familiarize
them with our extensive range of products, we have established the “MES Training Centre”.

Punching
and Forming
Punching and Forming accuracy is assured by our
comprehensive range of CNC Turret Presses: PEGA
357 and VIPROS 357, with their specially tailored 58 station
punch press having the latest CAD/CAM program with a unique
four station auto index delivering an accuracy of +0.1mm.
For simple pressing to punching and forming the most complex
shapes, MES utilizes a wide range of conventional presses of
upto 200 tons capacity. This ensures that all customers’ needs are
handled in-house with the highest set of quality control criteria at
all times.

Sheet Metal Fabrication
Versatile and conscientious working practices deliver a
quality job throughout a wide range of product types
and production volumes.
Most general engineering welding formats are handled
within our Sheet Metal Fabrication Shop. Everything
from simple heater grills and other small sheet metal
fabrication to large transformer cabinets can be handled
by our highly skilled team, in small or large volumes.
The fabrication department also includes a full dressing
service for a high quality finish.
These are supported by a range of NC and CNC press
brakes with capacities of upto 200 tons.

Welding
Our team of technicians has welding experience in Aluminium, Steel, Stainless Steel, and various
other types of metals. We employ the following welding techniques for the manufacture of Sheet
Steel, Aluminium, and Stainless Steel Enclosures:

Robotic Welding
Spot Welding
MIG and TIG welding offer high quality welds with a
high level of productivity. Robot welding is used to
completely automate the welding process by both
performing the weld and handling the part number.
In order to obtain a high level of quality in a short
span of time, MES has installed various types of steel
welding robots for welding sheet steel enclosures.

Pretreatment
MES has a high precision painting shop utilizing the latest
equipment and technology for pretreatment and powder
coating.
The high quality finish and level of consistency of powder
coating achieved by our paint shop facility is a result of the
MES policy of investing in modern equipment and highly
skilled personnel.
Preparation
As industry experts, we know that the basis of any good quality coating is surface preparation. The vast
majority of powder coating failures is a result of a lack of suitable preparation.
We employ a two-tier strategy: a dip line for parts that can be accommodated in one tank, and a
recently developed spray pretreatment system which is normally used for our regular production of
sheet steel wall mounting enclosu res.
The preparation treatment is different for different materials used and we have arrangements for Steel,
Aluminium, and Stainless Steel.
MES uses cleaners and pretreatment chemicals supplied by HENKEL.
After pretreatment, the product is ready for an Electrostatic Powder
Coating finish.
Prior to powder application, all items are plugged or masked. Masking
is generally used for threaded items, spindles, electronic equipment
grounds, etc.
MES paint shop personnel employ an extensive knowledge of
electrostatic powder coating processes and are fully trained in the
respective applications maintaining precision and quality in both
manual and automatic processes.
Once the powder has been applied, the product is heated to the correct
temperature for the required time period (dependant on the mass and
powder type).
Our modern curing plant includes an electric heating type 40ft curing
oven capable of handling sheet metal products in size of upto 12 x 2 m.

tailored to meet any customer requirements from part
assembly to complete finish assembly and then packaged
for delivery to the end user.

its switchboards. During the past years our certification has covered Short Circuit Tests from 10kA for
1 second up to 80kA for 1 second. Other tests include temperature rise tests and short circuit tests for
effectiveness of the protective circuit.

Power Plant Services
MES Power Division is a group of uniquely qualified Engineers and other Professionals with extensive
experience in the design, procurement, and construction of Power Plant generating facilities.
MES Power is capable of turnkey electrical generation projects. In addition, we can provide Engineering,
Construction, Supervision, Inspection, Material Procurement, and Project Management services for
energy related projects.
