Radiant
RADIANT TUBE HEATING SYSTEM
Vision
Introduction
Features
Model Range
Renowned for its pioneering track record,
AmbiRad, Europe’s leading supplier of
radiant tube heating systems, has yet again
raised the industry standard in terms of
innovation and technical performance.
New advanced burner technology
There are three vision ranges:
• Choice of burner ratings from 15 to 50kW
depending on model type
• All units are CE approved
• The standard VS range, which is available
in 'U' tube, single linear and double linear
models and can be mounted in linear or
'U' tube herringbone configurations
• NOx emissions as low as 52ppm on
certain models – 40% lower than standard
radiant heater
• The high efficiency VSX range, with
recuperative heat exchanger, which is
available as a 'U' tube model
• Combustion occurs entirely within the firing
tube. Not only does this reduce the size
and weight of the traditional burner control
housing but it also helps to reduce noise
levels (as quiet as 47 dB(A) 3m free field)
• The high efficiency Optima range, with
recuperative heat exchanger and styling
kit is available as a 'U' tube model.
The range of high efficiency Vision
radiant tube heaters delivers exceptional
performance in terms of efficiency and the
potential to reduce energy costs.
The foundation of this development is a
high efficiency advanced burner.
• New slim-line burner head provides a long
evenly distributed flame that dramatically
the entire length of the heater, delivering a
more even floor coverage
VSA models are available on request
(aluminised reflectors with no end caps).
• The inclusion of a recuperative heat
exchanger on VSX and VSXO models
(patent P308150GB), mounted adjacent
to the burner housing, significantly
increases thermal efficiencies up to 90%
and enhances radiant efficiency
above 60%.

Radiant
RADIANT TUBE HEATING SYSTEM
Benefits
Easy to install and maintain
• On forced gas burner models all electrical
wiring is contained at one end of the
product, which is particularly time saving
when installing single linear (VSLF) heater
models
• All units require straightforward annual
maintenance
Additional control at the touch of a
button
All models are compatible with AmbiRad
SmartCom control systems. SmartCom
units incorporate a host of features such
as self-learning optimised start-up to ensure
increased comfort and energy savings.
Herringbone configuration
Herringbone systems are specifically
designed to suit individual building
requirements; they can incorporate up
to ten 'U' tube or linear heaters on one
exhaust manifold. The exhaust manifold may
be terminated through the roof or wall.
Optimum economy and
fuel savings
• The elimination of both distribution and
standby losses coupled with high
operational efficiencies at the point of use
enable fuel savings of up to 65%
compared with conventional heating
systems
• Excellent radiant performance. More of the
available heat generated is distributed to
floor level thereby improving efficiency and
reducing energy consumption
SmartCom3
control panel
Radiant black
bulb sensor
(Please refer to separate leaflet 'SmartCom3
Energy Management Control' for full details.)
The particular benefits of herringbone
systems are:
• Optimised energy efficiencies
• High efficiency VSX and herringbone
configurations are included on the
Government's Energy Technology List and
may be eligible for Enhanced Capital
Allowances (ECA)
• All unit share a common internal flue
thereby raising efficiency within the
building
• Uniform heat distribution within the space
being heated
• Improved aesthetics and minimal risk of
water ingress - only one penetration of the
building is required to enable the products
of combustion to be expelled
• Universal application - they are ideal for
both new build and older premises (in
particular where penetration of an
asbestos roof is an issue)
• Listed on the Energy Technology List

Radiant
CONTINUOUS RADIANT TUBE HEATING SYSTEM
Nor-Ray-Vac
Introduction
Features
Model Range
Nor-Ray-Vac is a gas fired continuous
radiant tube heating system, designed
specially for the building it is required to heat.
The following criteria form the basis of each
particular system design:
• Reduces overall costs, with savings of up to
60% being achieved over conventional
heating systems
• In-line fuel efficient burners with inputs
ranging from 12 to 46kW
The Nor-Ray-Vac Series continuous radiant
tube heating system includes six natural gas
or propane burner models from 12 to 46kW,
for maximum radiant tube lengths from 5.2
to 27 metres. Maximum tube temperatures
range from 450°C to 480°C.
• Common vacuum fan operation
Reduced Operating Cost
• Heat loss of the building for the required
thermal environment
• Local climate conditions
• Type of activity in the building
• Specific architectural features relating to
the structure
The Nor-Ray-Vac system is designed to
provide uniform heat coverage over the
entire floor area. Alternatively, the system
can also cater for distinct zones providing
a varied degree of comfort level within the
overall layout of the building.
AmbiRad strives to become part of
the ‘design team’, working closely with
engineers or end users to determine
the specific design parameters for the
Nor-Ray-Vac scheme layout. This contact
between the company’s engineers and the
system designer or client will give the most
effective Nor-Ray-Vac system.
• Stoichiometric or ‘perfect’ combustion
• 92% combustion efficiency
• Rapid heat-up times
• Good aesthetic integration with building
• Minimal vent penetrations
• Capable of running three 46kW burners in
a radiant branch
• Widest range of burner inputs for
any continuous system
With today’s ever-increasing world-market
competition, corporations must continually
find ways to reduce operating costs,
especially where gas prices have risen
dramatically. AmbiRad’s high-efficiency,
gas-fired continuous radiant tube heaters
can do just that. With increased comfort,
along with a reduction in operating costs of
up to 60% over conventional systems,
AmbiRad will help keep your operating costs
down.
• Uniform distribution of heat
• Reliability and safety of operation to
the latest European standard for
multi-burner systems (EN 777)
• Qualifies for inclusion on the
Government’s Energy Technology List.
The result is a heating system designed
specifically for the needs of the building and
the way that the premises are managed
Nor-Ray-Vac Continuous Radiant Tube Heating System
A continuous radiant tube system incorporating multiple burners in series, designed to suit
individual requirements. Please contact 01384 489700 for more information.

Warm Air
ROOM SEALED UNIT HEATERS
LCSA
Specification
Introduction
Model Range
LCSA compact gas fired suspended warm
air heaters utilise a tubular heat exchanger
to provide a simple low cost heating solution
suitable for all standard industrial and
commercial heating applications.
The LCSA Series gas fired heaters are
available in seven sizes, with heat outputs
ranging from 22kW to 97kW, for use on
natural gas or LPG (to special order).
LCSA fan-assisted balanced flue units
incorporate an integral flue gas exhaust fan
to induce combustion air mechanically from
outside the building. This same fan then
exhausts the products of combustion back to
the outdoor atmosphere. A single balanced
flue terminal provides a combined air inlet
and flue outlet.
Heat Exchanger
Tubular aluminised steel heat exchanger
complete with multiple in-shot burners.
Features & Benefits
Air Distribution
• High thermal efficiency - above 91% nett,
resulting in lower running costs
A high capacity axial fan is fitted to all units
for improved air distribution. An optional
Economy Thermostat may be fitted to
heaters installed at high level to recycle
warm air down to working level when the
burners are switched off.
• Multi-try ignition system for enhanced
reliability
• Dual limit stats for additional safety
The fan operation is controlled by an integral
controller which delays fan start-up until
the heat exchanger has reached operating
temperature and continues to run after the
burner has switched off until all the useful
heat has been dissipated.
Each unit is fitted as standard with a high
capacity axial fan and fully adjustable curved
blade horizontal discharge louvres.

INDIRECT GAS FIRED HEATING & VENTILATION UNITS
EnviroAir SDH / SHH
Introduction
Features
Model Range
EnviroAir SDH/SHH units are primarily for
ducted installations to provide either heating
or combined heating and ventilation.
• SDH / SHH incorporate patented Tcore2
4-pass heat exchanger technology for
optimum efficiency and enhanced life
expectancy
SDH models are available with a short fan
cabinet for applications requiring a simple
return air or fresh air connection without
filters.
• Choice of titanium stabilised aluminised
steel or stainless steel heat exchanger
Alternatively SDH units can be supplied with
an extended fan cabinet to allow filters and
fresh air/recirculation air dampers to be
added for full ventilation control.
Used in conjunction with Smartcom controls
the units can provide automatic control of
input fresh air volume and temperature to
suit the requirements of the building in both
summer and winter conditions.
The units are available as SDH non
condensing heaters, with thermal
efficiencies in excess of 91%, or SHH fully
condensing heaters with thermal efficiencies
of 102% (ncv)
• Additional aluminium Macrochannel heat
exchanger in SHH models provides fully
condensing operation throughout the full
firing range
SHH units are supplied as standard with
extended fan cabinets.
• Single burner with multi-try ignition
provides enhanced reliability
External static pressure up to 400 pascals,
dependent on motor size selected and
options fitted.

Balanced Flue Installations
For balanced flue applications the terminal
provides both the fresh air for combustion
air and the flue outlet from a single building
penetration. The terminals are ordered
separately from the heaters to suit either a
wall outlet or roof outlet. Additional flue and
combustion air pipes may be added up to the
maximum permissible length detailed in the
product literature..
Balanced flue roof outlet (type C32)
Balanced flue wall outlet (type C12)
eliminates expensive roof opening and
flashing
Combustion air through wall, flue outlet
through the roof (C52)
Separate combustion air and flue pipes
(type C12) for applications where wall
thickness exceeds maximum length shown
in flue dimension table
To comply with CE approvals, balanced flue
appliances must be used with the
manufacturer’s balanced flue system.
All balanced flue heaters are also certified
for fan assisted flue installations, where the
combustion air is to be drawn from inside
the building or units installed in a ventilated
plant room. Roof and wall terminals for fan
assisted non balanced flue installations
should be selected from the list opposite for
these applications and also for balanced flue
applications using separated flue outlet and
combustion air inlet.
Heater positions and flue arrangements are indicative.
For heater and flue clearances please refer to the manufacturer's guidelines.

DESTRATIFICATION FAN & CONTROLS
DS Series
Introduction
Model Range
Design Data
AmbiRad de-stratification fans reverse the
natural convection process, re-circulating
warm air back to working level providing a
permanent reduction in roof space
temperature and uniform temperature.
DS fans are available in three sizes, with
mounting heights ranging from 4m to 18m
and air volumes 3000 m3/h and 11000 m3/h.
Select the DS unit to suit the mounting height
required, ideally the units should be installed
approximately 1 metre below the apex.
All units are supplied with a four-way
discharge for improved air distribution.
Calculate the volume of the building and
multiply by two to determine the amount of
air that needs to be re-circulated for effective
de-stratification. Divide by the primary air
volume of the unit to determine the number
of units required.

ColdAIR
EVAPORATIVE COOLING SYSTEM
ColdAIR
Wall/Window
model WA
Introduction
Features
ColdAIR evaporative cooling is the low cost
environmentally friendly alternative to costly
air conditioning.
• Consumes 80% less energy than
conventional air conditioning systems
ColdAIR evaporative cooling systems are
fast becoming the standard way to cool
industrial and commercial premises, by
drawing air through continually wetted pads
that surround the unit. The evaporation of the
moisture into the air reduces its temperature,
whilst the process also filters it, removing
airborne contaminants.
Evaporative cooling systems are designed
with energy efficiency in mind, typically
consuming only 20% of the energy used by
traditional air conditioning systems and with
the ability to install without any structural
alterations to your existing building.
• Door and windows can be left open with
no loss in efficiency

Air Curtains
COMMERCIAL & INDUSTRIAL AIR CURTAINS
Air Curtains
Introduction
Product Portfolio
Simple Versatile Installation
Warehouses, factories, retail premises
and cold rooms are all subject to the
problems caused by frequently opened
doors. The open door not only causes
discomfort but greatly increases energy
loss and, therefore, the running costs of the
building. Airbloc units offer a cost-effective,
energy efficient solution
to these problems by reducing heat loss
by 80%.
Commercial / retail air curtains
Airbloc units are supplied in a compact
modular format for simplified on-site handling. Units are designed for doors up to
six metres high. For industrial applications
where over-door installation is not practical,
the units may be vertically mounted at one
or both sides of the door. Remote control
panels are provided with each air curtain to
reduce on-site wiring.
The Airbloc range comprises ambient
unheated models or heated models using
gas, electricity, hot water or steam. In well
insulated structures, Airbloc provides
the final complement to the low energy
concept by eliminating a major source of
heat-loss.
Special Orders
Please note we try our very best to meet
clients requested delivery dates, however the
following units or options require a lead time
of 1 week or more:
Airbloc air curtains can be recess mounted in
bulkheads or above false ceilings and can be
fully cased for surface mounting, offering
exceptional installation flexibility.
Ceiling tile heaters
Designed to complement the Airbloc air
curtain range, ceiling tile heaters provide
a cost-effective heating solution for retail
outlets, restaurants and showrooms.
Available recessed or surface mounted.
Industrial air curtains
Designed for industrial or large warehousing
doors, the powerful Airbloc AB range of
industrial air curtains offers protection for
doorways up to six metres high. Industrial
units are available as gas, low pressure hot
water (LPHW), medium pressure hot water
(MPHW), electric or steam heated.
Food Safety
European Food Safety Inspection Service
(EFSIS) advises that where food is handled
or stored, doors should be adequately
proofed. When doors have to be opened,
Airbloc air curtains offer a suitable barrier to
stop the ingress of dust and flying insects,
protecting the internal environment. The
use of an air curtain across cold store
doors also helps prevent the
• Silver AC units
• Chassis recessed units
• 4 or more LPHW units
• Exit signs
• RAL colour coding
