In his opening keynote, Mark Bidinger, will not only address contemporary challenges facing colo and
Cloud service providers, but also discuss how the industry can respond to the growing demand to
scale quickly and support application-specific requirements:
“Big Data and the IoT continue to drive data centre expansion,” says Mark Bidinger. “But large scale
data centres are not being designed and constructed fast enough to keep up with demand. At the
same time, some Cloud services are unable to meet customer requirements if they are too remote and
bogged down with excessive latency. These sorts of factors are driving demand for micro data centre
solutions based upon proven designs, which can be factory engineered and delivered in weeks for
edge of network and regional deployment.”
Following on from some of the themes arising in the keynote, the Panel Discussion moderated by
Greg Jones of Schneider Electric brings together Fabrice Coquio, President of Interxion France; Phill
Lawson-Shanks, Chief Architect & VP of Innovation at EdgeConnex; Knut Molaug, CEO of Green
Mountain and Daniel Beazer, Analyst at BroadGroup to talk about a new form of hybrid computing
ecosystem to provision the availability requirements of IT networks and bandwidth-intensive content.
“To support the needs of today and tomorrow, computing power and storage are simultaneously
centralizing in cloud data centres and becoming distributed towards the network edge,” says panel
moderator, Greg Jones. “We’re bringing together leading lights from Europe’s data centre industry to
deliberate upon this emerging trend and consider the effect upon data centre infrastructure
simplification, uptime and availability, and both physical and cyber-security.”
The Solutions Presentation delivered by Brice Martinot-Lagarde, will discuss the potential impact of
the Open Compute Project on data centre architecture for Internet Giants, major Cloud service
providers and large enterprises. It will also explore the potential of OCP for the colocation market, as
well as the associated advantages and limitations of new Open Compute Architectures.
