(Northern’s contractor) Summary Environmental staff from FERC met with representatives from Northern via teleconference on Friday, April 22, 2016, to discuss the Northern Lights 2017 Expansion Project (Project) in Minnesota. Representatives from federal and state agencies were invited to participate, but did not attend. FERC and Northern discussed the width of the planned construction right of way as part of preliminary comments on the draft Resource Reports. FERC inquired about the status of Northern’s consultation with the Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS), specifically the streamlined northern long-eared bat consultation form, and Northern’s geotechnical bores and horizontal directional drill crossing plans. Both the FWS form and the geotechnical bores have been completed. Documentation will be provided in the final Resource Reports. Northern noted that cultural resource surveys were completed and the report is being finalized for filing with the State Historic Preservation office and FERC. The outstanding wetland surveys will be completed next week and Northern’s Natural Resources Inventory report will be updated for filing as part of the final Resource Report 3. The next biweekly call will be at 10 a.m. CT (11 a.m. ET) May 6, 2016.
