Spark and Sputter 1987 Ferrari Mondial Cabriolet Owned by Victor and Jan Perugini It was a hot night in late June back in 2004. We had some friends over and were anxiously waiting for 7:00pm and the delivery of a black Ferrari Mondial Cabriolet. But the car never arrived. The next day, after investigating on our own, we learned that we were part of an internet fraud scheme. We reported what happened to the FBI internet fraud department. We did not get a response so a week later we contacted them again and to this day, we still have never heard anything from the FBI. But thanks to the work of the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department we were able to get our money back. Well at least most of it. It wasn’t until September of 2004 that I found my current Ferrari. It’s more of a traditional Ferrari, with a red exterior, a tan interior and a black convertible top. It has a 3.2 liter V-8 with hemispherical heads. It has a red line of 8000 RPM and I have had it up to 145 MPH. It also has something that Ferrari doesn’t like to admit. It is considered a full convertible as it has a back seat. It is little back seat, but it is a back seat. But, it has not been all fun and games, I’ve been very lucky with my Ferrari. The only major thing I have had done was the tune up of the engine which required that the engine be removed from the car at a cost of approximately $7,000.00 I have had my Ferrari to the track at Road America. I have a lot of Ferrari clothes and I dress the part when I go to car shows. I’ve had nothing but fun since I got my Ferrari and it does put a smile on kids faces when I let them sit in it while their parents take their pictures. Would I get another Ferrari? The answer is definitely yes! But I would never sell this one. It will be willed out to my Grandkids. My Motto Is: One wife is great, But one Ferrari is uncivilized.
