FL-DS-401C-1 Accomplish improved floral design skills and techniques This unit equips the Floristry worker with the skills and knowledge required to accomplish creative and artistic expression based upon interpretation of design elements and principles, history of design and craftsmanship, application to industry practices, application of new trends and personal style development. FL-DS-402C-1 Develop concept plans and preliminary documentation for floral design skills and techniques. This unit equips the Floristry worker with the skills and knowledge required to develop and prepare concepts and preliminary documentation for design work of projects which may include conferences, conventions, themed events, weddings, garden festivals, company/franchise outfits and hotels. FL-DS-403C-1 Prepare detailed floral project design drawings and specifications This unit equips the Floristry worker with the skills and knowledge required to develop detailed design drawings and specifications for floral design or display projects. FL-SV-401C-1 Manage implementation of floral design or display project This unit equips the Floristry worker with the skills and knowledge required to implement, stage and manage floral events as to brief, contractual and legislative requirements. Requirements may include project resources, appropriate facilities, special permissions, venue and authority negotiations, production of displays, personnel, legal and financial management and monitoring requirements. ELECTIVE UNITS VOCATIONAL SKILLS Floristry WSQ FL-MK-401E-1 Develop a complete florist shop or floral design studio image This unit equips the Floristry worker with the skills and knowledge required to develop a florist shop or floral design studio image, apply design and merchandising skills to present image to the client, set pricing regime, develop and enhance the organisation’s image and personal style to merchandise product. FL-MK-402E-1 Develop in-house catalogue for products and services This unit equips floristry worker with the skills and knowledge required to develop in-house catalogues for floral products and services by the design of products for an in-house catalogue, organize photographs, layout, printing, e-commerce and printed format distribution. This unit covers the skills and knowledge required to provide input into the development of a layout and presentation in paperbased and electronic format for pre-press processing. FL-TD-401E-1 Develop workshop programmes for industry and public presentations This unit equips the Floristry worker with the skills and knowledge required to develop training and development programs to include in-house training, external training, workshops and to attain floral competition readiness. Retail WSQ RE-SS-408E-0 Develop a business plan This unit equips the Floristry worker with the skills and knowledge required to identify the elements of a business plan, develop the business plan, and determine strategies for assessing and minimizing risks. RE-SS-409E-0 Develop and implement an e-business strategy This unit equips the Floristry worker with the skills and knowledge required to analyse the external e-business environment, analyse the business capabilities in relation to e-business, evaluate opportunities and determine e-business model, plan and manage e-business implementation and business change process, monitor implementation and manage contingencies.
