2.0 Choosing The Correct Suspension System
Determine which method of installation you will be using. There are several different
methods for hanging this luminaire. The most common include:
H4P (4-Point “HOOK” Hanger 5’ or 10’)
The 4-Point HOOK Hanger is four individual cables with Snap Hooks designed to click onto the (4) for corners
of the fixture and are brought to either
2 or 4 suspension points at the ceiling.
(eye-bolt, beam clamp etc.)
PROS- Advantage is that you have
more control in leveling all four points
of the luminaire. (Recommended for
the LUX Gymnasium series fixtures)
CONS– The leveling is done at the ceiling height
“LOOP” Hanger
The “LOOP” Hanger can be used as a
4-point hanger (one for each corner of
the fixture) or in conjunction with a “Y”Hanger. The loop end attaches at the
ceiling anchor and is then through each
corner of the fixture or through the loop
at the “Y” Hanger.
PROS– Versatility of many different
mounting options.
CONS– Aesthetics (the HOOK looks
better on the fixture)

2.0 Choosing The Correct Suspension System (Cont.)
Determine which method of installation you will be using. There are several different
methods for hanging this luminaire. The most common include:
H5Y or H10Y (5’ or 10’ “Y” Hanger)
The “Y” Hanger 5’ is an “All-in-One” system and does not require additional parts
to complete the installation. TWO (2) “Y”
Hangers 5’ pieces required per fixture.
Each leg of the “Y” snaps onto ONE OF
the (4) for corners of the fixture and is
brought to 2 suspension points up to
5’ (or 10’) above the fixture.
PROS– Quick and simple This is recommended for the LUX Industrial
Highbay (LHB) series fixtures.
CONS- Can not be used on large fixtures
and must be leveled at ceiling height.
“Y”-Hanger
The “Y” Hanger w/loop is a 2-part system
requiring either an additional “HOOK” or
“LOOP” to complete the installation. TWO
(2) “Y” Hangers and TWO (2) ADDITIONAL pieces required per fixture.
Each leg of the “Y” snaps onto ONE OF
the (4) for corners of the fixture and is
brought to 2 suspension points just above
the fixture. Used in conjunction with either
a “LOOP” or “HOOK” to affix to the ceiling
anchor point.
PROS- Advantage is that you can level
the fixture at the fixture height as apposed to at the ceiling. This is recommended for the LUX Industrial Highbay
(LHB) series fixtures.
CONS- Can not be used on large fixtures.

2.1
HANGER Installation
Getting Started
Determine the number of hanging points and where you want the fixture to be installed.
If using the 4-Point hanger, you can choose 2 or 4 mounting points. If using a “Y”
hanger than you will only have two mounting points at the ceiling.

Or
Two (2) ceiling mounts/Fixture
Four (4) ceiling mounts/Fixture
TIP-Depending on your personal preferences either method can be used. The most
common is the two point, for ease of installation and/or aesthetics.
Once you have determined your method of installation, you will want to make sure your
anchor point is suitable to support the weight of the fixture.
Step 1
Determine anchoring method. (This can be an Eye-bolt, beam-clamp, uni-strut, pipe,
etc.) Anchors should be placed at 48” to 50” O.C.

Pipe
NOTE: Be sure to check your cord length in relation to the J-Box location to ensure the
cord will be long enough. Ideally your first anchor point should be within 12” of J-Box
termination for aesthetic purposes.
7
2.2a HANGER (4-Point) Installation
Step 1a (4-Point System)
Thread Cable into locking mechanism and pull cable through as shown:
Step 2a (4-Point System)
Loop around ceiling attachment point and pass tail end of cable through other hole in
locking mechanism. Pull tail end to adjust desired length as shown:
Repeat process for all four legs before attaching the fixture . NOTE: If all legs appear
to be hanging at the same level/length, Step 3 (Leveling) will go quickly.
TIP: For even faster installation times, you can do two at a time. By setting up the
locking mechanism on both tails at one time, you can control the length of both hangers as you slide them into place. This saves time as the hangers require less adjusting
to make them match.
* See next page for “Y” Hanger and LOOP Hanger installation instructions.

2.2b HANGER (LOOP and/or “Y” ) Installation
Step 1b (LOOP and/or “Y” Hangers)
Loop cable around ceiling anchor point and pass tail of cable through ferruled loop or
locking mechanism. Pull taught to secure. Place second 48” to 50” O.C.
Step 2b (LOOP and/or “Y” Hangers)
Thread Locking mechanism onto cable from bottom and then loop cable through attachment point. (If incorporation a “Y” Hook assembly then thread through the loop. If
to fixture, thread through (GREEN) Hanging Brackets. Continue to adjust until fixture
is level
Step 2b (LOOP and/or “Y” Hangers)
Thread Locking mechanism onto cable from bottom and then loop cable through

2.2c SPM Hanger Installation
SPM Kit
LUX dynamics Luminaires come with the Optional Single Point Mount (SPM) for when
J-Box access is an issue. The SPM is designed to thread onto an existing J-Box stem.
TIP-LUX dynamics recommends using a pre-installed cord (optional) with Single Point
Mount installations.
Step 1c
Pull existing wiring out of the stem and into the SPM body. Thread the SPM
body onto the stem. Use a single setscrew in the stem to ensure solid installation.
Step 2c
Thread the aircraft cable hangers into the (4) mounting points on the underside
of the SPM. Install the luminaire on the aircraft cable hangers below the SPM.
TIP-The Aircraft Cable Hangers come complete with snap-in hooks designed to work
with our signature green brackets for easy installation. Visually inspect that the hooks
are fully closed and the hook and cable are not twisted.
Step 3c
Loosely fasten the optional pre-installed cord to the aircraft cable hanger and
pull the cord through the remaining hole on the underside of the SPM. Connect
the existing J-Box wiring to the luminaire cord.
Step 4c
Ensure the luminaire is level and tightly fasten the cord to the aircraft cable
hanger. Fasten endcaps to the SPM using included setscrews.

4.0 Electrical Connection
Step 1
LUX dynamics Luminaires come with the Optional Cord Pre-installed. Locate the
Strain Relief Bushing (SRB) and create a small loop in the cord (for adjustment later).
Loosely fasten cord directly to aircraft cable. Tighten when completed and level.
TIP-While keeping an eye on the level, continue to fasten the cord neatly up the cable
until you reach the J-Box. Once cord is neatly secured in place, re-check that the fixture is level. NOTE: The weight of the cord and the tension applied to the fasteners
can cause the fixture to twist, turn or slant. You can correct this by adjusting the fasteners (zip ties) on the cord and also by the locking mechanism on the cables.
Step 2
SAFETY FIRST! TURN OFF POWER BEFORE MAKING ANY ELECTRICAL
CONNECTIONS. This luminaire is equipped with a Factory installed ballast disconnect on the cord side of the fixture. Disconnect can be accessed by removing the ballast cover (Vented Channel Lid). No tools required- using only your
fingers slide the “LID Locker” away from LID and pull up on LID to remove. Locate Ballast Disconnect (ORANGE or YELLOW) and pull to disconnect.
NOTE: Depending on the style of wire guard your fixture is equipped with, you may
have to open the wire guard to access ballast chamber. (for detailed instructions see

Step 3
Using a circuit tester, test conductors to ensure POWER IS TURNED OFF. Using an
NEC approved connector attach cord to Junction box in cover plate or knock-out
(NOT Included) See figure below for more informationNOTE: Cord provided by LUX dynamics may have more than one conductor or
HOT wire (RED) for multi level switching. If you only have a single HOT
(BLACK) at the junction box, connect both the two (RED & BLACK) together.
4-wire (2 conductor) Cord

5.0 Wire Guards
Your fixture may have optional HINGED Wire Guard(s). In the Photo below the fixture
is equipped with two Types of Wire Guards. The guard show on top is called TCWG
(Tennis Court Wire Guard) and is specifically designed to prevent balls and other objects from remaining on top of the luminaire. Though typically used on top of the luminaire, it can also be used for the underside. In most cases, this guard is shipped unattached to the fixture to allow for an easier installation of the fixture and is typically installed after the luminaire is installed and level.
WIRE GUARD INSTALLATION
To install, simply align the hinged point to the corresponding hole next to the green
hanging bracket. (opposite of the threaded insert). Slide in one side and then the other.
Note: the guard is designed to hit the green hanging bracket so you will have to flex
the wire guard upwards to align the other side.
18
5.1 Wire Guards
The bottom guards are intended for easy re-lamping and are also designed to receive
replaceable lenses. If you are adding Wire Guards to an existing fixture or If WG is not
pre installed, you must line up the two hinge holes and flex guard into place. Slip over
the thumbscrews and lock into place.
NOTE: When using the TCWG one piece guard for the bottom of the luminaire, it
is recommended to use a truss head screw with washer in lieu of the typical
thumb screw. The thumb screw is designed to allow a quick access to the inside
of the luminaire by way of 1/4-turn of two screws. If there is a concern of the
guard being accidentally opened, the thumbscrew can be replaced with a standard 1/4”-20X1” truss head screw and 1” fender washer. When the TCWG is
used for the underside of the luminaire, the truss head screw with fender should
be used AT ALL TIMES to prevent the guard from being opened accidentally. The
one Piece TCWG is not designed to be opened for prolonged periods of time as
the weight of the guard could bend the hinge wires.
FOR QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS PLEASE CALL (775)-200-0707
OPEN
To OPEN the guards, simply turn each thumbscrews (2) 1/4 turn (90 degrees) and the
Wire Guard will Slip over the thumbscrews and swing open.
Each Guard has two Thumbscrews. The same goes for the Bottom Guard.
CLOSE
To CLOSE the guards, simply swing back into closed position and turn each thumbscrew (2) 1/4 turn to the locking position.

6.0 Luminaire Maintenance
Indoor Tennis Court Luminaire Maintenance Schedule
All luminaires should be periodically cleaned to maintain maximum light output. Lack
of proper maintenance, cleaning and dusting of luminaires can lead to as much as
30% loss of the light output over the life of the lamp.
Annual Dusting
LUX dynamics recommends blowing out the top of the lamp area of the fixtures annually to remove dirt and bugs that may accumulate in order to maintain optimal light levels.
Using compressed air (90 psi maximum) and a typical air nozzle held at 6” away from
lamps, thoroughly blow out the fixture. You should not have to remove the wire guard
to perform “dusting” maintenance. Inspect fixture for defective lamps.
Re-lamping & Cleaning
Clean the fixtures at the same intervals as re-lamping (typically 3-5 years) depending
on lamp life and start intervals.
TURN OFF POWER BEFORE REMOVING LAMPS. LUX luminaires are equipped
with PLUNGER SOCKETS and do not require twisting or turning of lamps. Simply engage the plunger sockets with a side to side movement of the lamps (push lamp
against socket). Lamp should move freely with a spring tension.
Investigate and follow state and local requirements for handling and disposing of
lamps.
Using compressed air, blow out dirt and debris that may have accumulated (same as
annual dusting). With lamps removed, and power turned OFF, a thorough cleaning
should be performed using glass cleaner and a damp cloth. Once cleaned, use Alcohol to wipe down reflectors to remove any residue left by glass cleaner or oils from
skin. Dry surfaces with compressed air. Once dry, re-lamp fixture with new lamps.
When all parts are returned to their intended position such as wire guard, lamps and or
lenses, turn on power. Check to ensure all lamps turn on and fixture is operating normally.
Disclaimer
Because all facilities are different, cleaning and maintenance schedules will vary. The
above recommendations should be considered as a guide for a typical facility. It is recommended that an evaluation be done after first year installation to determine if dusting and cleaning should be done more often.
