FOLD-DOWN BOLLARDS
Description: Hot dip galvanized steel with finely textured paint finish, lockable, collapsible
mounting style mounted to embedded support base, 600mm height, stainless steel
hardware, Graphite Grey colour.
Acceptable product: TORO Model TOR600-D or approved alternative.
Payment at the contract price for this item shall be full compensation for all labour,
equipment, materials and incidentals to complete the work.

3D MAP
Cast 3D map: Muntz metal ASTM B36 UNS No. C28000 (nominally 60% copper and
40% zinc) 280 muntz metal, for casting three dimensional topographical map fabrication,
with collar and concealed fastening system, minimum casting thickness of 6mm. Laser
or water-jet cut mould to digital topographic layout as supplied by Contract Administrator.
Unfinished metal, apply removable temporary protective covering prior to shipment.
Provide 200mm x 200mm mock-up with letter for acceptance by Contract Administrator
prior to fabrication work.
•
Acceptable fabricator: Soheil Mosun Limited or approved alternative.
Concrete culvert pipe: Non-reinforced concrete pipe to CAN/CSA A257.1.
Crushed stone: Clear 19 mm (3/4") stone (OPSS 1004).
Approvals: Final artwork for map to be supplied by Contract Administrator.
Payment at the contract price for this item shall be full compensation for all labour,
equipment, materials and incidentals to complete the work.

LARGE AND SMALL KIOSKS
For Foundations, Structural Steel and Concrete, see Structural Drawings, S-105.
Paint Finish For Kiosk Structure: Coating for use at exterior structural steel exposed to
view including entire kiosk structures. For galvanizing, see structural drawings.
o
Primer: Reinforced Inorganic Zinc (dry film thickness of 50-100 microns).
o
Mid-coat: High Build Epoxy Coating (dry film thickness of 100 to 200
microns).
o
Top coat: Aliphatic Urethane.
•
Finish and Colours: Smooth texture, in gloss finish in solid colour selected by the
Consultant.
•
Samples: Submit 2 sample chips of each colour required to Contract
Administrator for approval prior to proceeding with final paint finish. Samples of
all remaining materials to be approved by Contract Administrator.
•
Examination: Examine surfaces to receive coatings. Surfaces are to be smooth,
sound, dry and free from conditions that would adversely affect execution,
permanence, or quality of Work. Test surfaces for moisture content to ensure that
they are suitable for application and fully cured. Moisture content shall be within
the limits set by the coating manufacturer prior to commencing the Work.
•
Preparation: Prepare surfaces as recommended by manufacturer to ensure a
first-quality application. Clean surfaces to be coated and adjacent surfaces prior
to any work starting. Clean structural steel in accordance with SSPC SP6,
Commercial Blast Cleaning. Vacuum clean dust and debris on floors to prevent

dust from marring wet coatings.
•
Application: Apply coating in strict accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
Finished work shall be even, uniform in colour and appearance, free from marks,
runs, craters, or other defects detrimental to appearance or performance, and
shall match approved samples. Finished work showing telegraphing or taped
gypsum board joints will be rejected.
Corrugated metal roofing: exposed fastening system: Zinc coated sheet steel to ASTM
A653/A653M with coating designation Z275 (G90) to ASTM A924/A924M unless
otherwise indicated. Corrugated panel, 22mm high profile, 0.76mm minimum base steel
nominal thickness.
•
Paint finish: Silicone polyester, with ceramic pigments and other select inorganic
pigments, 2-coat system, colour to later selection by Contract Administrator from
panel manufacturer's full range. Acceptable product: Valspar ‘WeatherX’ or
approved alternative.
Accessories: Exposed trim, end and flute closures, cap pieces, flashings, and the like, of
same metal material, finish, and colour as prefinished metal panels.
Gaskets: Soft, pliable, cold weather grade, PVC foam, extruded profile for outer sheet.
Fasteners and washers:
•
For metal roofing: Self-drilling, Type 304 stainless steel, fastener heads and
washers pre-painted with colour to match prefinished metal panels in exposed
locations.
•
For wood; metal fasteners and connectors: Type 316 stainless-steel.
Waterproofing membrane: High temperature grade membrane to resist softening at
105°C minimum, self-adhesive type rubberized membrane backed by high density
polyethylene, 0.76mm minimum thickness, with primer as recommended by membrane
manufacturer. Acceptable products: Grace ‘Ultra’ or approved alternative.
Roof wood deck boards: 38mm x 140mm, tongue and-groove, wood roof deck boards,
Select Grade Douglas Fir to NLGA Standard Grading Rules for Canadian Lumber, rough
sawn ‘rustic appearance’ on exposed face.
•
Finish: Acceptable product: Bio-Wash ‘Supernatural’; 2 coats ‘Supernatural’ Step
#1, followed by 1 coat ‘Supernatural’ Step #2.
Roof plywood exterior sheathing: Douglas Fir plywood (DFP) to CSA O121-M1978, 19
mm minimum, unsanded T&G sheathing grade plywood.
Sealants:
•
Concealed sealant: non-skinning butyl tape, to manufacturer's standard.
•
Exposed joint sealant: Single-component, non-sag, neutral cure, medium
modulus low dirt pick-up and non-bleed silicone sealant, to ASTM C920, Type S,
Grade NS, Class 50. Colour to later selection by Contract Administrator from
sealant manufacturer's full range. Acceptable product: Dow Corning ‘756 SMS’ or

Signage panel assembly:
•
Community boards: Weather resistant outdoor enclosed bulletin board assembly,
50mm deep prefinished aluminum case assembly with 6mm thick break resistant

Cladding panel system: FSC-certified 100% post-consumer recycled paper
saturated with phenolic resins, with sheets fused under heat and pressure to
produce a dense, homogeneous panels, 10mm thickness. Colour to later
selection by Contract Administrator from panel manufacturer's full range.
Acceptable product: Paneltech International ‘RainStone - Solid Surface’.
•
Steel mesh: Stainless steel Type 316 wire mesh, approximate weight of 6.4
kg/m!, open area 55%. Acceptable product: W.S. Tyler Canada Ltd.,
‘DOKAWELL-MONO 3381’ or approved equivalent.

Signage panel framing: Welded galvanized steel frame assembly, with stainless
steel fastenings, with powder paint finish.
