NXTM Distributed Lighting Controls
SCALABLE CONTROL SIMPLIFIED
The NX Room Controller is an intelligent lighting control that simplifies installation with auto-configuration and provides energy-code
compliance right out of the box.
The NX Room Controller integrates automatic and manual control of lighting. Auto-configuration provides an easy and affordable way to
meet energy codes, including California’s Title 24 and ASHRAE 90.1. No network or software is required to set up the unit. Users benefit from
intuitive energy-saving control over the lighting in their space.
Input devices such as digital wall switches, vacancy/occupancy sensors and daylight sensors plug into the NX Room Controller and are
auto-configured to default operations. Plug-and-play has never been easier. All device communication is over standard CAT5 cables that
simplifies installation and eliminates wiring errors.
More advanced configuration of dimming and daylight functions can be accomplished using a free smart phone app. Through an optional
Bluetooth® module, the NX Room Controller connects directly to both Android™ and iOS® devices. All of these features add up to efficient,
trouble free installation and commissioning.
Used as a stand-alone device, the room controller is perfect for spaces that require room-level lighting control, such as classrooms and
personal offices. Up to eight NX Room Controllers can be connected. The self-contained intelligent device becomes the hub of an advanced
distributed lighting control platform.

1
NXTM Room Controller - Used individually or in combinations, the room controller is the central component in the NX room control solution. It
contains either one or two independently controlled relays. Dimming versions are available that provide one or two 0 - 10VDC control signal
outputs for full range control of dimmable ballasts and LED drivers. The NX Room Controller features SmartPORTTM technology that provides
auto-configuration of occupancy sensors and manual control switches. When devices are plugged into the SmartPORT, the room controller
automatically and intelligently responds to the devices to provide the most energy efficient operation.
2
Wiring - All device communication is over standard CAT5 patch cables which simplifies installation and eliminates wiring errors.
3
NX Ceiling and Wall Mount Vacancy / Occupancy Sensors - Sensors employ Dual Technology, Passive Infrared (PIR) and Ultrasonic (US) sensing
technologies to control lighting based on occupancy. Each load can be individually set to operate either in occupancy (auto on) or vacancy
(manual on) mode. These sensors employ patented IntelliDAPT® technology to eliminate sensor commissioning and prevent false-offs.
4
NX Daylight Sensor - Using a photodiode element, the daylight sensor continuously measures daylight levels and sends the information to the
NX Room Controller which then performs daylight switching or dimming functionality based on the amount of natural light in the area. The
system provides a self calibration feature to facilitate installation and can be configured to comply with specific requirements.
5
NX Smart Switches - Provide manual control of the NX System with station choices of 1 - 6 buttons. Each button has
an LED status indicator and can be configured to control individual loads or groups of loads. Up to eight stations can
be connected in series to one SmartPORT on a NX Room Controller. The attractive decorator style form factor allows
ganging and use of standard decorator style wall plates.
6
NX Plug Load Control Module - specially designed to stand up to the rigors of controlling all kinds of plug-in loads, the
dedicated NX Plug Load Control Module connects into a SmartPORT and automatically tracks the occupancy state of
the room and turns off non essential equipment when the room is unoccupied. Meets ASHRAE 90.1 requirements for
control of plug loads out of the box.
The NX Room Controller Bluetooth® Radio and Smart Phone App allows for more advanced configurations of dimming and daylight
functions. The free App is available for both AndroidTM and IOS®.

LightHAWK®2 Vacancy/Occupancy Sensors
INTELLIGENT VACANCY/OCCUPANCY SENSING
The LightHAWK family of wall switch vacancy/occupancy sensors provides a wide variety of advanced features and options to make it easy for building
owners and managers to meet ever changing demands.
Vacancy and Occupancy - LightHAWK2 sensors have the option
of operating in either Vacancy Mode (Manual ON – Auto OFF) or
Occupancy Mode (Auto ON – Auto OFF) in a single sensor.
Vacancy ONLY Mode - Certain codes now require that motion sensors
operate only in Vacancy Mode. LightHAWK2 sensors offer models
that operate in Vacancy Only Mode to meet these requirements. All
models are shipped standard in Vacancy Mode.
Single or Dual Relay Control - Certain LightHAWK2 sensors are
available in either single or dual relay. The dual relay models are
ideal for bi-level switching or dual-relay control of a lighting load
and a motor load, such as a fan.
Photocell Override - All LightHAWK2 sensors come with a built-in
photocell. If activated during commissioning, this feature will
provide additional energy savings by allowing the lights to remain
off when the room is both occupied and has enough natural light
from a window or skylight.
No Neutral Required - LightHAWK2 sensors are available with
or without a neutral connection. A neutral wire is often missing
in retrofit applications where a standard light switch has been
removed. Our unique Leakage-to-Ground technology makes it
possible to install the LightHAWK2 sensor without the expense of
pulling neutral connections to each switch location.
Durable Construction - Utilizing high-impact injection-molded
plastics, LightHAWK2 sensors are designed to last. Each sensor
comes with RhinoTuff™ vandal-resistant lens and a wrap-around
galvanized steel mounting strap.
Smart IntelliDAPT® Technology - Patented IntelliDAPT Technology
allows LightHAWK2 sensors to use microprocessors and internal
software to constantly monitor the controlled area and automatically
adjust the sensitivity and timing based on environmental history.
Stand Alone Lighting Control - LightHAWK2 sensors are
stand-alone control devices. Standard light switches can be
changed out to motion sensors as needed, allowing energy savings
without a large initial capital investment.
