2.1 Setting of emergency duration
To select the rated emergency duration (1.5 or 3 h) the
wire at terminal 1 is used.

1.5 h rated emergency duration
both wires have to be connected on terminal 1
2.1.2

1
Connect up to 10 eLLK92… NIB to one central inhibit switch
(Ex-e circuit). This switch will block the emergency operation
during a power failure.
Do not use it for maintenance work!
Note:
An open inhibit switch does not allow an automatic function- or
duration test.
This will cause a flashing red LED at the battery box.

3. Calculation of
emergency
duration
3.1 Display of the NIB-Battery
The 5 green LEDs shows the actual charging state of
the NiCd-battery.
A new battery with nominal 7 Ah capacity will be the
equivalent to 5 green LEDs. Each LED indicates approx.
20 % of the nominal capacity (= 1.4 Ah)
By ageing of the battery the nominal capacity will be
reduced over the years. The speed of deterioration is
dependant of the operation- and ambient conditions.
Even a unused battery will deteriorate.
An average working time of 9 - 10 years can be
expected under normal conditions. (25 °C ambient,
duration test every 6 month, no deep discharge periods)
2. Calculation of
emergency
duration
3.2 Capacity of battery by LED-indication
The inverter of the eLLK 92 series needs an operating
current of approx. 3.4 A (1.5 h setting) or 1.7 A (3 h
setting).
A calculation of 1.5 h x 3.4 A results 5.1 Ah. This is the
reason, why a new nominal 7.0 Ah battery will last more
then 1.5 h emergency operation.
Based on the 1.4 Ah/per LED this results a theoretical
time of 24 minutes/LED.
When 3 LEDs are on, 1 h emergency duration can be
expected.
