1. MASSACHUSETTS INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY
French Baccalauréat
MIT recognizes and gives credit for French Baccalauréat examinations in the following areas, based on appropriate documentation:
•
•
•
Mathematics: For scores 10 through 20, credit will be given for 12 units of subject
18.01, Calculus I. For scores lower than 10, no credit is awarded.
If you are given 18.01 credit and then take 18.01A (a variation of 18.01) for review purposes, your 12 units of 18.01 credit will convert to 3 units of general elective credit. In addition, you will receive 12 units of credit for a passing grade in 18.01A.
If you take 18.014 (calculus with theory), your 18.01 credit will convert to 9 units of general elective credit. In addition, you will receive 12 units of credit for a passing grade in 18.014.
Physics: For scores 13 through 20, credit will be given for 12 units of subject 8.01,
Physics I. For scores lower than 13, no credit is awarded.
If you earn 8.01 credit and then enroll in 8.012 (the advanced version of 8.01), the 12 units of credit initially given for 8.01 will convert to 6 units of general elective credit.
You will also receive 12 units of credit for a passing grade in 8.012.
Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences: For scores 13 through 20 on exams in fields designated as Humanities, Arts, or Social Sciences at MIT, credit will be given for 9 general elective units. Note that credit earned from HASS-related French Baccalauréat exams does not satisfy any part of the HASS Requirement. For scores lower than 13, no credit is given.

10. UNIVERSITY OF VIRGINIA
The French Baccalaureate
The College of Arts and Sciences offers possible advanced standing credit for scores of 12/20 or higher on examinations in subjects studied at a coefficient of 4 or 5. Upon departmental recommendation, students may receive one, and no more than two, semesters of introductorylevel credit for each qualifying examination.
Scores not eligible for advanced-standing credit may be considered for advanced placement (no credit will be awarded); such placement decisions must be made by the appropriate Departmental
Undergraduate Director.
The French Bac “total score” is not used to determine credit eligibility; credit in the College is based on examination subject scores alone.

11. DUKE UNIVERSITY
International Placement Credit
In addition to AP credit, Duke also recognizes various international standardized examinations and grants a limited amount of elective credit and placement in advanced courses at Duke for students whose performance in these examinations meets certain standards established by the
University. If you completed the French Baccalauréat , the German Abitur, the British,
Singapore, or Hong Kong A-Levels, the International Baccalaureate, the Swiss Federation

These credits can be awarded only in those subject areas for which there is an AP exam offered domestically. IPCs are counted as electives in the same way as AP credits are awarded. Scores of all examinations must be received by the Office of the Registrar (Box 90054, Durham, NC

13. HARVARD COLLEGE
Advanced Standing
Harvard's Advanced Standing program is designed for undergraduates who plan to graduate in three years or plan to complete the A.B./A.M. program in four years. This is a choice made at the end of two years of study at Harvard. To be eligible for this program, students who have taken
College Board Advanced Placement exams need a total of four full credits, earned by scoring a 5 on a minimum of four AP tests. Entering students with outstanding records on foreign examinations such as British A-Levels, French Baccalaureate , or German Abitur may qualify for eligibility on submission of their credentials for evaluation upon their arrival in the College.

14. TUFTS UNIVERSITY
Secondary School Course Selection & Standardized Testing
The admissions process is individualized and designed to focus on the intellectual strengths of applicants while understanding the richness and breadth of backgrounds. Primary emphasis is placed on evaluating candidates within the context of their national academic system. Close attention is paid to the secondary school record, standardized testing, recommendations, and any information providing insight into the work of the student. The admissions office is familiar with evaluating credentials from many different educational systems, such as the GCSE and GCE Alevels, the French Baccalaureate , the International Baccalaureate, and the Arbitur, among others.
Example: French Baccalaureate
A student with a score of 10 or higher with a coefficient of 3 or higher in economics is eligible for one Tufts credit for Principles of Economics and placement into intermediate economic theory courses.
______________________________________________________________________________
15. MIDDLEBURY COLLEGE
Transfer work from U.S. institutions will be evaluated on a course-by-course basis to determine the fulfillment of Middlebury departmental and College requirements. The major European examination certificates, such as the French Baccalauréat , International Baccalaureate, Swiss
Maturité, Artium Examination, British A levels, and German Abitur, are normally considered to have a value of one full academic year if students receive scores that indicate excellent performance. Students who receive such credit may not then receive credit for Middlebury introductory courses in subjects covered on the examination.

Transfer credits may be accepted from an accredited institution of higher education. Liberal arts courses (for example English, math, history) successfully completed at such institutions with a grade of at least a C can normally be transferred towards similar liberal arts courses that are required in the student's program of study at Berklee. Transcript evaluations are done by the
Registrar's Office once you have been accepted. Note that the maximum transferable credits are
60. International Baccalaureate is treated just like a French Bac or a Swiss Maturita — some credits are granted. Because course content in music subjects may differ greatly between schools, we do not accept music courses as direct transfer credits from other institutions.

French Baccalauréat
Dalhousie University recognizes the academic strength of the French Baccalauréat program.
Dalhousie will offer transfer credits for some of these classes where they have been assessed as equivalent to Dalhousie courses, and are relevant to the student's academic program. To be eligible for transfer credit, students must meet grade requirements. Transfer credits will appear on the Dalhousie record, if they may be used to fulfill degree requirements.
The Program
The French Baccalauréat Program is a secondary school education (lycée/high school) where higher level studies in specific subjects are offered. This program is offered in French and usually offered in La Francophonie.
Obtaining Transfer Credits for French Baccalauréat Classes
Students must achieve a minimum grade of 11 on a course with a minimum coefficient of 4 to receive transfer credit. Students wishing to obtain transfer credit must provide an official transcript of their French Baccalauréat results. The student will be notified once the assessment is complete. Credit will be awarded according to the French Baccalauréat Table below. A maximum of five credits may be awarded. It is required that an official Course Description is provided for those courses which require review and are not listed in the table below.
