GIVE YOUR EQUIPMENT A LONGER LIFE Ministatic electronic line conditioners MINISTATIC electronic line conditioners are static units which, by means of specific solutions, are able to minimise disturbances such as voltage variations, spikes and high frequency interferences affecting the distribution lines. These perturbing phenomena represent more than 95% of all electric anomalies which could cause damage to susceptible electronic loads such as computers, numeric controls, medical equipment, telecommunication plants, etc. The range MINISTATIC electronic line conditioners are designed to meet the needs of the most specific applications. This range of product includes 30 different standard models. Moreover, customised versions for special applications can be designed on customer’s request. TSn and TR series This series includes 8 single-phase models ranging from 150 VA to 8 kVA. They are assembled into an elegant cabinet having an IP20 protection degree. Silent operation, reduced dimensions and easy installation make them suitable for any use in offices and laboratories. TS and TR industrial series This is a brand new series constantly upgraded to comply with those requests coming from customers who have particular needs as regards special voltages, severe protection degree and constrained dimensions. For instance, in professional applications such as automotive, chemical and telecommunication industries units can be asked to: * Connect 120 V or 230 V singlephase loads with 500/400 V three-phase mains; * Fit inside already existing electrical switchgear or 19 inch racks; * Guarantee a 230 V clean voltage both at 50 or 60 cycles having 440/400/230 V input mains. TST series This series includes 4 three-phase units ranging from 6 to 24 kVA. They are the best solution for feeding CNC machine tools, robots and telecommunication systems. Thanks to a delta-star isolation transformer they create a “real neutral” on the output lines while using a three-phase input mains without neutral. Made in Italy The wiring diagram MINISTATIC electronic line conditioners fulfil their functions thanks to the combined performances of the different elements which constitute it. Transient voltage protection This device is intended to limit transverse and common mode spikes exceeding the input voltage peak value. Transient voltage protection can also be effective on spikes of atmospheric origin over 6KV. RFI Filters They attenuate high frequency transverse and common mode interferences over 300 kHz. Isolation transformer This is the key component for the achievement of desired technical goals such as low output impedance, insensitivity to load power factor, excellent attenuation and effective electric isolation. The transformer is in B-class and its windings have been designed to meet the impedance and power factor requirements. The double shielding allows a common mode attenuation higher than 110 dB up to 350 kHz and an isolation in compliance with IEC 742. The creepage and clearance distances exceed the 7 mm required for reinforced insulation under severe pollution conditions. The isolation at 50/ 60 Hz between primary and secondary is over 3750V. The isolation at fulmination pulse voltage is 8 Kvolt. Electronic Voltage Regulator The electronic voltage regulator stabilises the voltage permitting to attain, in every load condition, an excellent output voltage accuracy. It also guarantees a high efficiency and low level of EMI emission (-20dB according to level K of VDE 0875). Its main features are: · response time lower than 2 ms/volt, · insensitivity to load power factor, · reduced dynamic impedance (0,5%), · high overload capacity up to ten times the rated current, · efficiency higher than 99%, · “quasi-peak” output voltage sensing circuit which allows “data acquisition” in 10 ms and the compensation of wave form flattening caused by non linear loads, · creepage and clearance distances exceeding 8 mm, - power semiconductors with 2500 Volt internal insulation on isolated heatsinks. Overvoltage protection (TSn only) A device which disconnects the load when the output voltage exceeds +10% the nominal voltage for more than 0.4 seconds. Decoupling inductor It is a high frequency non-saturable inductor. It can be used either as a decoupling inductor or as a filter for those interferences which could cause magnetic susceptibility. Attenuation Input and output diagrams of a transverse mode pulse attenuated by a line conditioner connected to a resistive load using a third of its nominal power. The specific functions of the various elements which attenuate the pertubating phenomena are shown in the following pages. Common mode noise attenuation measured by means of the same method used for a R.F. filter. Common mode noise attenuation measured by means of a 0,01µF capacitor (measuring method used for an isolation transformer). High frequency noise attenuation measured in compliance with CISPR-IEC and VDE regulations. Transverse mode noise attenuation measured by means of the same method used for a RFI filter. IREM. Experience and Quality IREM is a leading company in the manufacture of electronic and electromechanical equipment for the control of the mains power in the following sectors: - powering of discharge lamps for professional applications; - protection of electric users against line disturbances, - luminous flux regulation in lighting plants; - power generation by micro hydroelectric plants. Since its foundation in 1947, IREM has gained wide recognition due to the reliability and innovative content of its high-tech products. A reliable company deserving the Oscar-Award. In 1992, in Los Angeles, Mario Celso - founder of IREM - was granted the "Scientific-Technical Award" by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The development from craft to industrial structure, expanding sales and research programmes have consolidated the know-how gained over the years. Two production plants, a philosophy based on "quality upgrading" as the company's primary concern and direct export exceeding 50% of the global turnover are a warranty of continuity and development. Experience, quality and professional skill: these are the factors that permitted IREM to achieve in 1993 the certification UNI EN ISO 9001, a further confirmation of IREM commitment to constant improvement to ensure the maximum satisfaction of the customer and its capacity to guarantee: • a constant quality standard • a highly reliable product through the years • precision and repeatability of all working processes • dropping of acceptance control at the customer's plant • identification and traceability of a product through the years. The latest target pursued by IREM in the year 2000, ISO EN 14001 certification, is a firm demonstration of the company-s will to protect the environement not just through its products but also via precise patterns of behaviour.
