(E).-- In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (b) of sub-section (1) of section 12
and section 13 of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 (29 of 1986) read with rule 10 of the
Environment (Protection) Rules, 1986, and in supersession of the notification of the Government of India
in the Ministry of Environment and Forests number S.O.728 (E), dated the 21st July, 1987, except as
respects things done or ormitted to be done before such supersession, the Central Government hereby
recognises the laboratories specified in column (2) of the Table given below as environmental
laboratories to carry out the functions entrusted to such laboratories under the said Act and the rules and
the persons specified in column (3) as Government Analysts for the purposes of analysis of samples of
air, water, soil or other substances sent for analysis by the Central Government or the officer empowered
under section 11 of the said Act, for a period specified in column (4) of the Table aforesaid, namely:TABLE
