NQF Ref 0582 Version 2 Page 1 of 4 National Certificate in Computer-Generated Imagery Level 4 Credits 139 This qualification is expiring. The last date to meet the requirements is 31 December 2013. Purpose This qualification is designed for people seeking to enter the computer-generated imagery industry and aims to develop knowledge and skills to the level of capability required of new entrants. The qualification is designed so that credits can be obtained through work-place assessment, or in an off-the-job learning environment, or through a combination of both approaches. The National Certificate in Computer-generated Imagery has also been designed so that employers in the industry can be confident that people to whom it has been awarded have the base knowledge and skills to contribute competently in the industry. This has been achieved by including standards which develop some background information about the industry, the theoretical knowledge needed to create computer-generated imagery, and the technical skills which build on that knowledge to create such imagery. The qualification is a stand-alone certificate and is not a prerequisite to any other electronic media certificate. Reviewed standards that continue to recognise the same overall outcome are registered as new versions and retain their identification number (ID). Any version of a standard with the same ID may be used to meet qualification requirements that list the ID and/or that specify the past or current classification of the standard.
