The PSB-MA is a medium intensity white flashing xenon strobe beacon that operates 24-hours per day
at two light levels with automatic switching by FAA photoelectric control. Similarly, the PSB-MAB
operates 24-hours per day as a medium intensity dual color beacon: flashing xenon strobe beacon
during the day at 20,000 candelas in white and LED flashing red beacon at night at 2,000 candelas.
The system controller with optional touchscreen monitors the complete lighting system providing
information for each PSB beacon installed and each LED mid-level light. The controller uses software to
synchronize the flash timing for all system beacons.

This cable runs between each beacon power supply and its beacon flashhead.
Minimum length of 6-ft and maximum length of 400-ft per beacon.
No splices allowed; may be run exposed if code allows

Data Cable
This cable is one run from the POC controller to the first beacon power supply and to each
beacon power supply in turn ("daisy-chain"). This is normally the most direct method, but the
cable is a data bus and may be routed as required with the beacons connected at any point.

Examples: A 3-way split requires three pieces. One piece is required for the end of the data
cable terminating in the beacon power supply.
The installer must supply all other power cable: power and ground to the POC controller; power and ground to each beacon
power supply; power, ground and alarm line from the POC controller to each POL side light.

The basic PSB-38001 beacon catalog number is intended for use with a Point POC Controller for most
applications. Other configuration options below are available to be factory installed at time of order.
Add the separate FAA Photoelectric Controller to all systems. Add the separate SPU Surge Protector Unit
or POC Controller as required by the system.

The fixture shall be treated for marine conditions by cleaning per US Department of Defense TT-C490 method III, pretreated with chrome-free aluminum conversion coating per US MIL-C-5541 type
II, epoxy powder base coat primer and glossy polyester powder coat finish in color RAL 6003 (FEDSTD-595 color #14097) dark green. Powder coating per US Department of Defense MIL-PRF-24712A
type VI and oven cured.

The MA options below are required when the two or more synchronized beacons are installed
without a POC controller.

SPU
Each beacon contains limited surge protection. All POC controllers include circuit level surge
protection. For systems without a POC, an SPU Surge Protector Unit is strongly recommended:
SPU-10770-x x = 1 for 120v x = 2 for 220v
Separately ordered and separately installed in the line feeding power to the beacons.
