Michael Beschloss
Best-Selling Author and Historian
As a master in his field, Beschloss
brings us inspiring, humorous and
tragic never-before-told stories of
American presidents – from George
Washington to George W. Bush – as
they struggle with war, peace and
domestic crisis. He puts President Obama in historical perspective
and assesses his potential place in the history of the American
presidency. He reveals the qualities that have made great presidents
in history and shows how to find leaders who have them now – in
politics, business and civic life.
The NFPA Mobile
App will be available
in early May for
your smart phone

Kurt Schwartz
Undersecretary, Homeland Security & Emergency
Management; Director, Massachusetts Emergency
Management Agency, Massachusetts Executive Office
of Public Safety and Security
Kurt Schwartz will review the local, regional, and state planning process for
the 2013 Boston Marathon and discuss the multi-discipline, multi-jurisdiction
response to the bombings and the intense manhunt several days later that
resulted in the death of one suspected terrorist and the capture of the other.

features products specifically designed to help comply with the ADA
and to improve quality of life and safety for people with disabilities.
This event feature, along with related sessions in the NFPA
conference program, is designed to inform building designers,
builders, managers and safety executives, and to promote the idea
of moving beyond the minimum requirements of the Americans with
Disabilities Act.
The Electric Vehicle Safety Showcase addresses the potential
hazards encountered in an electric vehicle (EV) collision, and safety
considerations for the growing installed base of charging stations in
residential, commercial, and public spaces.
Stakeholders affected by issues surrounding the growth in EV
usage and the build out of the battery-charging infrastructure include
utilities, fleet managers, municipal authorities, first responders,
and electrical contractors.
Get information on the NFPA’s first responder training programs,
