Your hoist motor will actually be 460V. Innovation…Performance…Reliability Page 5 of 31 R&M Materials Handling, Inc. (The standard double girder trolley gauge for a particular hoist model with specific height of lift is shown in the SX Price List next to the hoist price.) • R&M’s SX hoist drawings DO NOT indicate the standard gauge, only a gauge range. • Be careful when putting new DG hoists on existing cranes – the gauges MUST match! Be sure to address this at the quoting stage. • Contact R&M Inside Sales for assistance. Innovation…Performance…Reliability Page 7 of 31 R&M Materials Handling, Inc. Using the Technical Guide to determine faster hoist speeds available: 1. Go to the Hoist Characteristic Table in the SX Spacemaster Electric Wire Rope Hoists Technical Guide. 2. Locate the capacity & duty cycle of the hoist you have previously selected for your application from the SX Price Book. 3. In the contactor (or inverter) control column: a) Find the speed you want. b) Note the motor code & gear type for that speed (found in the same row). 4. THEN, turn to the Hoist Speed Options page in the SX Price Book to find the add-on cost and lead time estimates, based on your chosen hoist frame size, reeving, std. and alternative speeds. Go back to the General Tab. 2. Reset the Hoisting speed, Reeving type, and hoist Duty group back to A/S. 3. Change the Trolley type to A/S. • This is because low headroom the default in QuoteMaster®, but capacities only reach 10-ton. If you don’t, you’re components will be upsized. • If you must quote per CMAA, do not change to FEM. Innovation…Performance…Reliability Page 27 of 31 R&M Materials Handling, Inc. (Make sure you are viewing ALL Parameter levels.) • The default value of this parameter is set at 1. Ratcheting up the parameter value should in most cases increase the weight of the box girder. • It is possible that the girder size could also increase when bumping up this parameter value. For example: • • Using the default parameter value, the weight of the suggested box girder for a QXS10T x 80 ft span crane is 14,300 lbs and the size of the box girder is 17 ½” x 43”. After adjusting the parameter value to 1.2, the weight of the new suggested box girder increases to 15,830 lbs and in this case the size of the box girder remains the same. (Make sure you are viewing ALL Parameter levels.) • The default value of both of these parameters is 80 (as for a ratio of 80 to 1). For example: • • When using the default parameter value, the plate width of the suggested box girder for a QXS5T x 96 ft span crane is 19 ½” with a distance between the plates of 15”, which does not meet the CMAA recommendation for the specified span. After adjusting the parameter value of GirSpaW_Rat_SU to 65, the plate width of the new suggested box girder is 24” with a distance between the plates of 19 ½”, which exceeds the CMAA recommendation for this span. The value of the unit weight is measured in kg/m. The default value is 75 kg/m (~50 lb/ft). The minimum value is 50 (kg/m) and the maximum value is 150 (kg/m). Use 1.49 to convert lb/ft to kg/m. Go to General Tab Parameters All Parameters ThtAuxHoiLoa Then define the load for the Aux hoist. The value of the load is always measured in kg. ‒ Note that the load must be entered in kg; the parameter will not accept lbs. i.e. 10-ton aux would be entered as 10000 (kg).
