Design, Engineering, Manufacture & Sales
Crestchic have significant experience in
the engineering, design and manufacture
of a wide range of loadbanks from 5kW to
in excess of 7,000kW.
Crestchic loadbanks are designed and manufactured for
applications that require accurate and stable electrical test
loads during the commissioning and maintenance of power
systems; including diesel generators, gas turbines, UPS systems
and various prime-movers.
The range of air-cooled loadbanks include variable resistive
load (kW), a resistive/reactive load (kVA) at a variable or fixed
power factor with both types available in a range of sizes and
specifications, housed in either a standard canopy or ISO style
10, 20, 30 or 40ft containers all with a choice of control systems.
Medium Voltage Loadbanks are also available ranging from
690V to 36kV for applications where there may face physical
space/footprint limitations in accommodating a separate
loadbank and transformer solution.
The capacity ranges from 5kW to 6,250kVA and designed to
operate at 3 phase, 50 or 60Hz. Alternatively, Crestchic can
design and build a loadbank to any size at any voltage and
frequency to meet customer specific requirements.
All loadbanks are manufactured in the United Kingdom to a
high industrial standard: BS EN ISO 9001 - 2000 certified.

Loadbank Control &
Monitoring
All loadbanks, regardless of type, need a control system which suit the application for
which it is being used. Crestchic loadbanks are switched by contactors controlled by any
one of a wide range of standard control systems, from simple manual control to
programmable microprocessor based systems.
Crestchic loadbank control systems are very simple to operate via Manual Control, the
Hand-Held Terminal or directly from the "Eclipse" Windows based PC intelligent control
system.
Manual Controls
KCS Control
The push-button/dial controller provides a simple PCB multi-step system with handheld or panel
mounted options allowing for 1kW load steps.
Manual Fixed-Step Load Control
A low-cost, ultra simple pre-set control with no external connections.
Load Trakker II
Where a resistive only loadbank is required to follow a variable load providing additional load for
equipment health or tariff augmentation in the wind turbine market.
Microprocessor Controls
Handheld Terminal
The HHT-100 handheld field controller is suitable for all microprocessor controlled Crestchic
loadbanks, providing portable, robust control up to 100m with basic instrumentation, pre-set load
programs and M-Start facility.
Eclipse Interface
The Crestchic state-of-the-art software is ideal for more complex testing where accurate, real-time
data capture and ultra-precise control of one or more loadbanks is preferred.
RCL700 Ruggedized Tablet
The RCL700 controller is a rugged field controller suitable for both AC resistive and
resistive-reactive loadbanks. It is perfect for environments that are unsuitable for more delicate
PC’s, giving precise control over multiple loadbanks, along with the same data acquisition and
control that is available from the Eclipse PC interface.
Monitoring
The Crestchic Nimbus is an MV monitor which allows real time graph and data capture by a low
voltage (VT) and current signal (CT) reference connecting directly to the MV switchboard or
generator. This system allows accurate readings which avoid losses associated with step-down
transformer and load cables. The operating range is from 380V to 25,000V. A full report can be
obtained after the test.
Transformers
To complement the loadbanks, Crestchic also manufacture a range of transformers for the
stepping of voltages up or down. These transformers are packaged in an ISO container, complete
with MV and LV switchgear, a range in capacity from 2,000kVA to 8,000kVA and have a voltage
range from 600V to 36kV.

Crestchic are the largest supplier of load testing equipment in the world with rental facilities in the United Kingdom, Europe, Middle East,
Asia Pacific and North America. The global rental fleet exceeds 150MVA, and ranges from 380V to 36kV with the equipment easily mobilised
between our global facilities to provide full support to load test projects throughout the world.
Rental equipment ranges from 100kW resistive loadbanks to multiple loadbank projects providing loads in excess of 70MVA with voltages
up to 36kV.
Crestchic are able to supply a range of Power Testing and Commissioning equipment for rental use. This can be in the form of either straight
rental for customer use, right through to packaged rental where Crestchic carry out design, delivery, installation, commissioning, operation,
de-commissioning and removal in partnership with the client, providing a flexible, client driven service.
